How do I paint a Maquette? Help Needed

Help!
Starting to paint my first Maquette.

Does it require a base coat before painting?

1. I know that I can use acrylic paint on resin, but is there any other types of paints
that I can use? What is the preferred type of paint?

2. Does it matter what type of paintbrushes I use? What is recommended?

3. What do I use to seal the maquettes after I'm done painting them?

4. Can I use ceramic tools on resin? If not, what is recommended?

5. What is recommended if they need a little sanding or smoothing?
