So this has got to be one of the coolest props to come around in recent memory. First things first...All thanks and complete respect to the legend that is Jason Eaton, who has done all the research and heavy lifting to bring us the most accurate prop ever. His model is available from; Masterpiece Models -

My plan is to build this at twice Studio Scale, (60cm), with a working recoil cannon action and sound effect...well that's the dream

I have already modelled the cannon and will be releasing the STL files once Jason's model has had a fair chance to sell

I'm still figuring it out, but my idea is to use a tank gun recoil system with a servo or a gas blowback kit from an airsoft gun

Yep, I'll sort out some decent audio files once I'm nearing the finish line.
Got the spheres now so things can progress...they're actually pretty cool lights...could have the Ion Cannon glowing red or a cool blue

OK most of the actual build is done...all the panels cut out, stuck on and the greeblies/pipes attached and primed. Have only just dry fitted the cannon and petals. Will probably do the paint job first and then tackle the electronics
