Help please! Is this Buck Rogers Draconian Guard Laser Gun an unused prop or a fan replica?

Hi!

I found this at an estate sale in Burbank. Figured out that it’s an unpainted full-size resin cast of a ray gun from the Buck Rogers series. I’d love to find out if it’s from the production or if it was made by a fan. Any tips or info would be appreciated!

If it's fan made, then it's a very good model. The example above is the light up hero version, but the main body looks exactly the same to me.

It still might be a cast taken off an original, but it looks to have very close lineage to the show. It even appears to have some of the same casting imperfections.

We only saw it fired one time--to "freeze" Tiger Man as I recall. Maybe at a door lock.
