did think about starting a build thread but figured that was pretty much covered in your original thread,

I've found that everything has gone together pretty much exactly as it should so far

I've done a lot of sanding to smooth out as much as possible (but I'm not going to be too pedantic, figure the Samaritan is a pretty rough & ready gun)

primed everything & got the 2 frame parts glued together, I used bits of cocktail sticks through the trigger & hammer

filled the seams & re-primed ready for a coat of silver

only thing I'm not sure about is the release lever, I've put it on the rear cylinder, not sure if that's right but it seems to work, it sits proud of the gun not sure if that's right or not?

loving building this

Aww crap, just test fitted it with the chamber & bullets & I managed to snap the 2 retaining clips :facepalm

Hopefully I can glue them back together maybe find something to reinforce inside them , otherwise it won't hold shut

I was cleaning up one of the kits last night, in preparation for the next mailout - razor slipped and went right into index finger, down to the bone :cry

So here's my disclaimer - be careful!!

It was the 2 little retaining clips that hold the top down onto the bar (see pic)

were fine but once I had it primed & added the chamber & bullets & closed it they popped/snapped off

I found the 2 tip/bits that came off & as they were hollow I inserted a filed down cocktail stick inside for strength & epoxied them back on

hopefully they'll hold,

I think the tolerances are that close that just painting it altered the size slightly & I'd filed down the clips slightly for a nice tight fit so it put too much pressure on them, oh well probably should have been more careful :lol

they're not glued so if needs be can be replaced I guess

I've given the whole thing an undercoat of silver today & painted the bullets

absolutely love this kit having a lot of fun making it just hoping I can do it justice & not break anything else

it's out in the garage now with it's first coat of black drying,

this is usually where things go wrong for me, I've got a feeling it might be a bit cold for painting but I'm an impatient type :lol

hopefully it goes on ok
