Hellboy (2019)

Liked it way more than the first trailer. I did not like that cleaner aesthetic at the summoning site. And I do not get why the German Officer had 3D glasses on. I mean, HB is called Red and not Red and Blue. Or did they probably prepare for an Abe, too?
Still not liking the Broom character interpretation.
It's a direct copy from the comic book where a nazi had red and blue lenses.

I'll give this a try when it hits Redbox, but I'm not loving it. Like the Del Toro films this just doesn't have the feel of the comics to me

Looks like another big, stupid FX extravaganza with no heart or soul. "Let's show another famous city's landmarks being destroyed, that's worked the 30 previous times its been done. And let's use an old rock song, that's always badass." *****, come up with something new.

Sorry, I'm just crabby because I wanted GDT and Perlman for the hatrick.

Saw the trailer. Not good.

I never used to considered myself a hardcore fan of Guillermo del Toro‘s Hellboy, but this new trailer makes me appreciate how much genuine character the original film had.

The kid in me kept saying.. “That’s not Hellboy. Where’s Hellboy?”
The teen in me kept saying. “WTF is this?”
And the adult in me said, “Yeah. This isn’t even a rental.”

Yeah this just is not interesting me at the least. It still looks and feels like a bootleg.

It reminds me of one of those foreign knockoff films.

Im willing to give this a decent chance, thankfully this is a cosplay look I can pull off without needing a wig as my hair is really long. Looking to get more details on the coat though.

I'm extremely excited for the movie after seeing the red band trailer. I'm planning on going opening day.

I'll probably watch it when it hits OnDemand, but not at the theater. It just looks like a bad copy of the originals. I think this is a case where Ron Perlman became the character and I can't see anyone else in that role.

I'm gonna give it a chance in theaters. I agree that that from the trailers we've seen the CG looks a little 2000s Sci-Fi channel... and the action and dialog look pretty corny, but there are little visual hints here and there that I hope signal a better film than the trailers are showing. I like the snippet scenes of hellboy with a bunch of guys in tuxes in a victorian smoking room, that feels very true to the comics. And I like the misty scenes with baba yaga's chicken leg house -- both things that I felt were sorely missing from Del Toro's version

I will say I don't know why this movie (and del toro) felt the need to give hellboy a Cool Bachelor Pad and accompanying affect. The impression I got from the comics is that hellboy is cool because he's a regular working stiff like everybody else, not that he's some kind of rockstar...

but even still, trailers are not always the best indicators of the content of a movie in my experience. And besides, coming out of a movie that was no good is fun too, there's always something to pick over.
