Hasbro ROTJ AT-ST (IMPROVED)

Finally found these at my WalMart. They don't look as bad as I thought they would, although your improvements make it look 100% better. They had so many of them, I figured I'd wait until they mark them down. If they sell out before that, then oh well, I didn't need one. I'd love to mod one, but I'm just not that good or motivated in it.

Yes I just posted a couple of days ago that they are in my store. I was there again last night and there are lots left.

I am in Alberta, Canada so not sure when they will or did hit shelves in the US.

I'm from around Edmonton/Sherwood Park. I checked a couple of stores around here, but found nothing? Which city did you find these in?

Hey keith have you thought about offereing a small run mod kit for this particular AT-ST? Keeps fingers crossed

Keith, I second (or third that) that. I'd buy you're mod kit too.

Also, how accurate is this Hasbro Toy once it's modded like yours?

Went to the local walmart here, they have a whole rack of them for like $44? Ive yet to get one for myself though :/

Sorry for the delay with the photos. It goes dark so early here in the UK now, i've not had chance to take any in daylight.

The parts i made for mine are all one offs. The only mold i made was for the three aircraft wheels that fit on the rear of the left gun, so i have no parts to offer.

The model would be finished by now, but my airbrush has stopped working, so no weathering has been done yet. I'll get some photos this weekend.

Thanks,

Keith.

OK, got mine. (At West Edmonton Mega Store if anyone cares).

Thanks much for posting photos for your toy conversion. This will make a fine addition to my collection, since there really wasn't any decent large models of this out there. Just have to figure out how to make large trees for an Endor forest.

I actually thought that the£49 price tag was expensive as Keith got his for £30 and in the Us you seem to be able to get them for $40 or so. I will mod it when I get one:lol Ill probably wait until the January sales to see if they get reduced.

Got mine before the Black Friday rush in the USA At WalMart for $43 plus tax. Good price and with some mods it will be a nice replica.

Keith, how about a parts list then?

Not to change the subject, but I'm impressed with the current line of 3 3/4 inch figures. Most of them are just awesome with their articulation, sculpting and accessories. I would buy new sculpts of old figures - I'm done with the repackaging of old figures, which Hasbro tends to do to keep the line going. The new ROTJ figures, Luke, Leia, Ewoks, sail barge guards and the like are very nicely done! Good job to Hasbro on this. Now back to the regularly scheduled thread....

Great job on modding the AT-ST. Huge improvement over the poorly crafted ships. On another note, I saw a repackaged Tie Fighter with big wings at Target and saw in the Toys'R Us ad that they have the legacy Millenium Falcon at half off, which makes it $79.99 for anyone who missed the Walmart discount/clearance last year.

I just picked one of these things up, I am very happy with it! Certainly over the first AT-ST they put out.

Anyways, I'm considering modding it just like yours, but I'm no expert on these, and I'm a little confused as to how exactly you modded these sections in the pics vvvvvvvv

I was also wondering which pieced you kept from the original toy vs scratchbuilt. Thanks!!

You have to saw off the detail part thats at the main leg joint in the first picture there and then add some tube with a smaller tube fitted in the center and then clean up and glue on the detail part that was cut off.
For the gurd plate, cut down the original plate so its very narrow, then fit your scratch built guard plate onto the old cut down one, this gives you the correct curve.

The chassis needs a LOT of chopping and cutting away, then you have to scratch build the walls inside so the chassis has the correct depth to it. The only part i used from the toy in that section in the second pic is the grey wish bone thingy.

Keith.
