Blade Runner - Officer K Boots (Close Match!)

Whilst toiling away on my BL research, I ran across some boots that are a pretty good stand in for the Bates "Strike" models.

Originally, I was thinking that if I could not find the exact boots, I might buy some close enough and buy silicone beeswax/hexagon shaped material and e6000 epoxy it on the sides of the boots. Meh.... could work.

Then I ran across the Merrell Moab series.
I'm not sure if anyone has shared this yet, as I have not seen it but perhaps I am late to the party and didn't see the thread.

The models you want to look at are the Moab 2 and Moab 3 "Tactical Response 8" Waterproof Side Zip" models. There is another Moab model that has a really funky toe that is not like the Strike model.

I have attached pictures so you can see.
Happy hunting!

He has the Bates Strike 6” side zip boots in the film. You can still buy them for about $100. I bought a pair a few years ago for carrying mail on my route and they were pretty good. The toe box was a bit narrow for my wide ass feet, though. Lol!

My bad. Lol! I guess I didn’t see the boots with the pants pulled up like that. Bates Strike 8” it is, then. I think you’d be good to go in either case. You can’t really tell the difference with the pant legs over the shaft of the boots.

The Strikes are futuristic, and comfortable, could you ask for more?
Just wish I had bought a couple more pairs, mine are on their last legs now.
Yeah, I thought they were pretty darn good boots! Like I said, the toe box was a bit narrow for my feet. I should have bought a wide size when I got them.

The UK site for Bates Boots shows an updated version of the "Strike" which was renamed to "Shock" (Shock 8In Waterproof Side Zip Boots | Endurance Performance System). It's subtly different to the old version used for the film, but most importantly it still has both of the hexagonal grid panels, so this looks like a true "close enough" option for anyone not able to source the screen used model.

Edit: On further investigation it seems as though this model is now also discontinued, as all of the official suppliers are showing it as sold out, or discounted on the remaining less purchased smaller sizes; so unless some pop up on eBay or elsewhere, it seems like another dead end.

If you have a current source I'd appreciate the help. I have not been able to find them anywhere in "average" sizes. I've found a few size 7 and 13 but nothing in the 10-11 range.

I looked and couldn’t find anything except a site called Chuck’s Boots. They have some there, but the closest sizes I saw were 9.5 and 11.5. They’re a little pricey at $145, but it’s the best I could find right now.

Yep - I tried to order them only to get an e-mail the next day that they could not actually find the shoes. If you look at the web page it tells you which of their two physical stores is supposed to have the shoes and how many. In my case it said they had one pair which as I said, they could not find. Most likely an inventory miscount so I wouldn't be surprised if they have none.

Damn, man. You really did check everywhere! I didn’t check into it that deep on their website. Sorry, brother. I’m at a loss myself. I’ll keep checking, but it looks like you’ve done some good detective work to try and find these. Keep trying. There’s gotta be a pair for you out there, somewhere! If I find anything, I’ll let you know.
