HASBRO PROTON PACK 10/27

Anybody else having trouble getting the thrower to sit in the V-Hook? Mine doesnt hook up too well

Yes. The two black plastic tubes are the spacers, and they clip onto the larger holes on the bottom of the motherboard, which you align with the two holes on the bottom of the ALICE frame, making sure that the vertical and horizontal bars on the frame are positioned in between each set of screw holes for the brackets and their screws. Use the two longest screws to secure the frame to the spacers, and all of the other screws for the remaining brackets (two per).

Each bracket fits differently, so you know where each one should go. The largest one goes on the bottom just above the spacers, the next size down goes just above that one, the smallest on goes on the very top, and there's two brackets for the left and right side of the frame.

Thanks for the info. I figured it must've been for the frame, the instructions didn't mention any assembly so I was slightly confused.

How many does it take? I’m gonna pick up some
It needs 4 of them

Went to put mine on earlier and the shoulder strap on the Rothco just ripped right out of the slider and the whole thing went down. Is there a hack to secure those once they're in place?

I've had this happen with a spirit pack during the last con I went to, and saw it happen to another cosplayer later on in the day. My current solution has just been to sew the straps together so that they're no longer adjustable and to hope it holds when I have something more expensive on my back.

Thats very odd, can you post a picture of how you have it threaded? Perhaps they were done wrong at the factory.

Received mine last week. Gotta say I'm very excited. A proton pack was always a dream of mine and never could afford building one (even though I wanted to). I love it, I wanna wear it all the time, and sleep with it on my back, if that's ok... Took time to make a few weathering and mods here and there.

For the yellow cable. I've put a yellow with black line Techflex (found on etsy in the UK) and cut only a small potion of the rubber cable (see pic) to replace with real wires and black spiral sleeve (6mm). The rubber cable is full (somehow I thought it would be hollow), so I had to dig holes in both ends for the wires to be glued in. Turned out great, If I say so myself.

I'm now waiting for the wand to arrive (on thursday I believe), alreasy printed the replacement for the handle and bought the green tape. Also already painted the gasmak part of the hose greyish.

Gotta find an Alice frame too, that seems to be a bit tricky in the UK but I'll find it!

Oct 23, 2021 I have high hopes for this pack. I feeL sure that this will be an Afterlife version of the pack, but after seeing Adam Savage’s videos and pics of the pack, there aren’t enough differences to make me not want this.

Man, HasLab is killing it (or “us” more accurately). Star Wars Rancor, GIJoe SkyStriker. Potentially this! They just ended Galactus and Victory Convoy (I think that’s who it was).
Dear Past Self,

Your proton packs arrived today. They are almost everything you dreamed they might be and a whole lot more. You are going to love them!

Regards,
Your Future Self

Really wish i had been able to manage ordering 2, the urge to roll one back to an 84 pack is going to be strong.

In the meantime, ive got the basic upgrades for the Afterlife pack ready to go.

Did you get all those parts as a set or just order them individually? Hopefully someone releases a kit with everything you need.

I got a few as a set on Etsy, others I’ve been collecting over the year. Also, it showed up and it’s perfect. I have an early release wand and I’ve heard some others who have the early ones having trouble with the v-hook but mine fits perfectly.

I’m m one with the v hook problem - switched it out today & fits perfect now, that’s a weird issue

Still haven't got the wand but in case I have the problem, do you have a ref for a proper v hook? (I should receive it on thursday)
Also, does anyone had success switching hose (and ref for a good one)? The one that comes with the pack is super stiff, I bet it's gonna be an issue.

GBFans.com has good ones - You might get away with just replacing one side like I did....

The product photos of theirs shows the drilled holes as being offset, yet ive also seen a video of theirs on facebook selling it where both holes are lined up centered, so which is it? I want them centered, thats how they are on the afterlife pack.

These guys have some good solutions too:

This was how they’re attached on there. Does this look correct? Didn’t have any issues with the other side. I saw some people put rivets on theirs so they didn’t have to worry about that happening, but hoping it’s just done up weird lol.
