Congrats on the purchase! This is a long term investment you'll be happy with. Between now and when this will ultimately ship I'll probably start building a pack to bide the time.Preordered mine and the neutrona wand today! 2023 is going to be a loooooonggg wait!
Yeah looks like they are experimenting with a clamp design, so no drills needed. You can also remove the straps from the pack itself to install the ALICE frame.HasLab Proton Pack Halloween update.
86% backed with just over 6k backers. (Need 7k)
Cost $400, no one pays until Dec 12. Ships spring 2023.
New info from haslab team:
At 9k backers we are getting a cable that "plugs" into the hasbro wand supplying power to the thrower from the pack.
Hasbro is aware majority Of people will be mounting on alice frame, is working on a solution that will not involve having to drill holes in the alice frame.
A member of the haslab team is active in the Facebook "haslap proton pack modders" group.
Haslab seems to be very aware people will be modding these.
That's smart move, I know some of the fan base around the pack building community are split, but considering how affordable it is to build a custom for the last five years this licensed pack is a drop in the bucket expense. Properly budgeting people could build a fine kit and have the Haslab pack as a well modded spare.I already have the Hasbro wand, a custom flight suit with my name on it, a custom ghost trap, custom PKE meter, and an Alice pack with a Spirit Halloween pack on it. I figured what the hell, I backed this for an upgraded Ghostbusters costume for 2023.
Wow I wish I had that much space to have that many packs. That being said, who cares , I'M IN!!That's smart move, I know some of the fan base around the pack building community are split, but considering how affordable it is to build a custom for the last five years this licensed pack is a drop in the bucket expense. Hahaha, I've been thinking on and off about building a pack for 35 years when I had that water zapper neutrona wand as a boy, I have the finances and time now to actually start collecting and building all the stupid awesome things I wanted growing up. This pack is way up at the top of that bucket list. Congrats on jumping aboard the Haslabs choo choo train!Wow I wish I had that much space to have that many packs. Same here... divorced, kids are grown, retirement is coming fast, I can now be a big kid and get the cool stuff. I hope the new movie is a hit and Ghostbusters is revived for when this pack is ready.Hahaha, I've been thinking on and off about building a pack for 35 years when I had that water zapper neutrona wand as a boy, I have the finances and time now to actually start collecting and building all the stupid awesome things I wanted growing up. Adam Savage did a video on Tested where he visited the set and got to handle the Hero packs. Looks like they MOSTLY based them off the "super hero" from GB1. It has the GB1 ribbon cable but the Legris barb is on the Ion Arm instead of the endcap. The Bellows has the screw through to top like in GB2, though. Was the pack in Afterlife using the GB2 setup or GB1? I sifted through pages online but might have missed if this was verified.
Sorry I seem to be falling apart in my old age and accidentally deleted part of my original post when I was editing it lol. I meant to ask if the Alice frame was using the first or second movie setup? I believe they were both LC-1 but just changed straps and kidney pads for the second movie if I'm remembering correctly.Adam Savage did a video on Tested where he visited the set and got to handle the Hero packs. GB 2 packs used LC-2 frames painted black with LC-2 shoulder straps and kidney pads. From all the promotional images and trailers plus the reference pictures taken by Adam Savage, it looks like the new Phoebe pack uses a LC-1 frame with LC-2 shoulder straps.Sorry I seem to be falling apart in my old age and accidentally deleted part of my original post when I was editing it lol. how do you tell the difference between LC-1 and LC-2 frames?GB 2 packs used LC-2 frames painted black with LC-2 shoulder straps and kidney pads. To my knowledge the difference between LC-1 and LC-2 frames are, LC-1 frames are anodized black whereas LC-2 frames were anodized green. On LC-1 frames the crossbar sits flush with the tube of the frame while the crossbar on the LC-2 sticks out past the tube of the frame slightly.how do you tell the difference between LC-1 and LC-2 frames?
The Phoebe pack in Afterlife uses a newer style LC-2 kidney pad with a green fastex buckle. How about the afterlife kidney pad & waist belt?
