I'll start messing with fonts later, D6 what type of paper is that?

That seal is from the deluxe editions of the novels. The envelope and letterhead have a different design of the seal.

Crazy Diamond, though an excellent resource, sells some but by no means all of the fonts used on HP props. Here are a couple that use fonts from other foundries:

Are those your props or pics off some site? They look amazing. Any tips on obtaining them-if they're replicas? :D

Well, I can say they aren't replicas. :)

Potter props are amazing. On many films, even some hero props break the illusion of reality if you see them close up (you can tell a phaser is made of pine, for example, or see glue lines). The HP props I've seen, even the least of them, are 100% deluxe all the way down to the micro level. We're talking about fine wood grain painted on an extra's resin wand (that doesn't even appear onscreen that I could tell). Those prop designers really spare no expense.

To bad they don't have making of and art of books. :(

They will. It's just that nobody is allowed to publish anything creative about HP until Rowling finishes--just sticker books and calendars and the like. She just won't allow it.

After book 7, I expect HP to get the Star Wars treatment. (In terms of movie books at least; I don't know that Rowling would let fiction writers near her setting.)

You seem to have quite an interesting collection Ivanhotep.

Looking through my morgue of HP pictures I came across a small pic from an auction of the scroll you have there.

Found this pic while going through my files.
It's from the second film showing the second year book list.
Paper looks almost like white parchment.
It may not show the text but it does show that the layout is the same as the first years.

By the way, I cleaned up the School Logo a bit and once place in a document works great.
I replaced the text so it would be sharper.
I used Dominican that was a really close match, near spot on for the smaller text.
I did have to tweek it for the Hogwarts at the top so it might be just slightly off.
Unless you have something to compare it to you won't know the diffirence. ;)

Where exactly was the scroll featured?

"On many films, even some hero props break the illusion of reality if you see them close up (you can tell a phaser is made of pine, for example, or see glue lines)."

I'm sorry if this is a newbie question, but what makes a prop a hero prop? I've seen the term countless times, and I have my theories, but I'd love a real definition.
Thanks,
Harley

In a nutshell a Hero Prop would be the most detailed and best made of a given prop that is used in the Beauty or close up shots.

The song scroll was set by the place settings in the Great Hall during the Sorting Scene in HP1. The scene where they sing the school song was cut, though. You can see the scrolls by the plates when Harry and Co troop in.

Thanks.

I take it that this is off the screen cap page?
It's the only image I have seen and unfortunatly the only one they have. :(

I know that each one is diffirent, this being Malfoy's.

i have a question for anyone that has the malfoy wand/cane....what's the costruction like as far as the cane aspect of it goes?...i might be getting one soon and i wanted to know first...i need a cane to walk...is this something that i could actually use or is it just a show-piece?...if it can be used is it something that i should only use when i really want to show it off or is it something that i can use semi-regularly?...thanks...skott
