Harry Potter Props and costumes

I just helped a friend of mine make a custom wand for his girlfriend...

which then led me to the Noble collection sparking a new wand interest.

So does anyone know why they decided to change the wand designs? Harry's wand in the two latest installments is supposed to reperesent the one he gets in the first movie, correct?

Is this a case of graflexes becoming scarce or something? Did they run out of wood? Are they just getting fancy for fun?

Whats the deal?

I Actually have done a lot of Research on this and the wands you see in the third movie on where actually chosen first it was Rowling that said they needed to be plain but as the third movie was done with a Different director he pulled the other ones out and went with it, the prop department had a reason why, and As for lucius it is just a black wand that is in a Silver Serpent head according to Rowling, that's just from what i read anywa

I already bought a broom from Alivan's, but it's wicked short and the wrong style to begin with. I guess if no one can help me I'll just have to make one from scratch.

i'm sure i'm a Day late and a dollar short but Noble collection has the nimbus 2001

Coming in late to the game... way late...

But I was wondering if there's anyone here who could point me in the direction of some good info for making a Quidditch costume, preferably the outfits worn in the Halfblood Prince - image of Ginny Weasley for reference.

Thank you.

Did anyone already get the 'page to screen' book?
I'd really appreciate if someone could let me know which props it shows off .

Anyone who made a full Daily Prophet / Evening Prophet newspaper, complete with curved headlines and articles, the crossword .....?

I'm working on one, but it still needs a lot of work. He is also a bit to small, so i think i'll make a better one. This is just a try-out ^-^

I think someone in another thread identified the cutlery fro me the grand hall as an ikea item.

I don't know how to make a link from my iPad. If you search for Harry potter hogworts cutlery then it should come up.

Here's most of my Harry Potter prop collection:

Not pictured is a Butterbeer mug and Pumpkin Juice bottle from the WWoHP, and a Gryffindor Sword which is hanging on the wall in another room.

Here's the Snape I threw together for this past Halloween. Soft parts largely inaccurate but I recently purchased the Museum Replicas ensemble during their after Halloween sale. Plus the wedding ring and the Elder wand are right out. :facepalm
Simply loved playing the character as he is my favorite by far in the HP saga.
Comments welcome. :)

Excellent Snapes, guys!

Combat...it looks like you put a lot of work into your costume....that coat is amazing! I can't wait to see your other pics! :thumbsup Is that your real hair?

Daric...you really resemble Rickman in that photo...what brand/type of wig are you using?

Rob

Thanks GS! Interestingly that wig is a $5 Halloween wig which my barber cut and styled for me based off a Snape photo I gave her! Plus we put some kind of "serum" hair product on it for that greasy/shiny look. Thinking about buying a higher end wig for next Halloween and having the same barber cut and style again! :D
