Harry Potter Props and costumes

Good luck! We were at the exhibit a few weeks ago. There is security everywhere! :eek

It's a very sweet exhibit and cool that many of the props and costumes are so close that you could touch them if you feel daring. We leaned in close to memorize as many details as we could. :lol

Just bring a notebook. :)

has anyone gotten the marauders map from noble? at first I thought about getting another wand (Dumbeldores) but don't really need a whole collection of them but looked on there site and saw it there and thought that might be a neat replica to have.

I just got lupins but had to send it back to get it exchanged since the rod at the tip was showing,

I have the Noble Marauder's Map; it's pretty nice, not entirely accurate though, of course. In my opinion, it's the best version out there though, at the best price. If you have any questions about it, please feel free to drop me a PM if you wish.

(Just as a side note, the Dumbledore wand is easily my favorite of the wands that I've accumulated so far. Plus with the significance of it coming up, I'm glad I purchased it.)

I got mine, about three months ago, it's a nice replica, but if you're looking for something really accurate, the Noble's map isn't.
It looks pretty close to the POA one, but it's not the one they show on the picture at their site, that's probably the orginial one. But, some parts of the replica map shows even more parts of Hogwarts then the original.
Some differences I could notice: The ''aged marks'' of the paper are wrong; it does not have the little ''stairs''; on the front the original map has MOONEY, while the replica MOONY and from what I remember, It's even more different from the one used in HBP, I guess they created a new part for when Harry see Malfoy on the Map. You can see a part of it on the picture below:

Anyway, I would still recomend it, since it's the best replica I've ever seen.

Yeah, the "Mooney" change was a nod to someone in production. I prefer it as "Moony" like the book though. :) It's also missing some a small detail flap or two.

Edit: is that a recent picture, Monsters_05?

It's from the Harry Potter: The Exhibition, a friend sent it to me, Here's the complete picture in the original resolution(I've only seen it in low resolution at some HP fan sites):

I've been thinking about work on this new part, but I guess I'll wait for the DVD release, if I don't find any better picture until there :thumbsup

EDIT: Pic wasn't at the original resolution, correct one now

Heres an interesting question. If you opinion if you were gonna have a potter collection what are the top 3 things you would have? possibly based on importance to story or just things that are cool

My number one want has always been Snape's costume. I will have one someday. Other than that, let's see... I think the Half-Blood Prince's potions book would be cool, and either the Sword of Gryffindor or Lucius Malfoy's walking stick. Actually, I really kind of want the HBP book. I've never thought of it before tonight.

Just too low res to make out. I played with it in photoshop and the only thing I can make out is I believe the first words are "Terms and Conditions" but don't take that as gospel.

Thanks for trying
what I've got by myself so far, but I'm totally not sure:

TERMS AND CONDITIONS: ???????? ??????????? ??? ????, it at any time ?????? the first week ??????
??????????? ?? ??? ??? please notify us in writing and we will refund you for all ???????? issues.

you can make out a few details... celtic symbols and knots, stars, circles, i have one more pic you can sorta see a griffin..

Here's the set of items I've finished over the last week: The Hogwarts acceptance letter, requirements list, and the Basilisk page. I call them "finished," but I'm always tweaking things.

fullsetx3.jpg

I wrote the calligraphy by hand while trying to match it to screen-used/production references. Of course it's not perfect, but the only real change I made was in the correct spelling of "forward," which is spelled "foward" on the screen version. I also made a typed version similar to another production version.

The envelope has a real wax seal which can be re-opened but I need some darker red wax. I carved the stamp myself and found the Hogwarts crest online after a lot of searching (and then a few days later it was posted here :lol). Thanks to those who helped on the envelope size questions.

The Basilisk page was made while referencing video and screen caps. I left the same gaps and spacing made from line justification as they were on the original. It still needs to be aged a bit and maybe put on different paper. I also made an "optimized" version that reduces the gaps but still keeps the words on the correct lines and spaces. Does anyone know if there is anything on the back? It feels like there should be a continuation on the reverse side.

Here's a few more items:

Draco's crane and Harry drawing inside from PoA. Had to learn origami for this one. :lol

Sirius's note from PoA along with Dumbledore's letter to Harry about the invisibility cloak:

I used some different paper on these, which looks pretty good in person.

Anyways, just thought I'd share. Thanks for looking... :)
