Harry Potter free paper props - all movies and more!

Since i got some new ink cartridges for my HP printer I thought I would try to printout some of the stuff I've put together.

WOWZER...printing this stuff out properly is almost as hard as it is to make the stuff. :lol hats off to "finishers" like woozelmom and ecl for their work. :thumbsup

Anyway, here's some pics of the Ministry reprimand letters and envelope. Don't ask me why I chose them, cause i have no idea. :lol But it did not turn out too badly.

Here's Harry's Ministry ID I just finished. I printed his picture separately and pasted it into the ID form then stamped it. i printed the inside form on linen look paper and the cover in light card stock (10 cents a sheet each). It looks and feels good.

These pictures are not to show off they are to show what the product can look like with a little patience and if you hold your tongue just right. :lol If I can do it, anyone can do it.

I hate printing. Let me repeat that...I hate printing. I would rather create than print but at some point ya just got to see what it looks like "in the flesh". It is rewarding when it turns out right though.

Hi bfd,
Yay!!!! I LOVE your reprimand set and Harry's ID. They turned out great and you finished them :thumbsup
I think seeing something put together will encourage more people to try it themselves :) I know I feel like running to my printer right now and these two projects are at the top of my list :)
Unfortunately, I am out of ink and out of time for crafting at the moment but I will get to them as quickly as I can.

They look great! And I agree with you, I hate the printing part. Once it's printed, then it's fun to put together (like the envelopes, for some weird reason it soothes me to cut and fold, etc - I'm strange!) But I feel good that my mostly completed ID looks like your pictures of them. I just used regular paper for mine, but the linen looks GREAT!

I know what you mean about cutting and folding. You can just sort of put your mind in suspend mode while you're doing it and it is actually kind of therapeutic now that you mention it.

But hey there is a dark side to it...while you are in suspended animation mode you must fight the urge to run with those scissors in your hand. :lol

@Barneyrfd: how did you put the finger prints and photo behind the stamps on the MOM id? Please keep in mind I'm running Photoshop cs

LOL you must know me too well! But it is weirdly therapeutic...l I think its mainly because I'm in between jobs right now, and poor and feeling sorry for myself and having something to do that doesn't cost a lot of money helps take my mind off things :)

@bfd, the new proclamation looks great! As do your print puts, I KNOW how frustrating that can be!

@thumbhead, did you get my email? If not I can resend it!

Thank you luke.

Luckily i found a good buy on the bay. 4 refill color ink cartridges for $20. Prints look great and the ink is waterproof to boot.

Look and see if you can get a bulk ink system for your printer. Ive had bulk ink tanks for 5 years now and a few months ago i bought a new printer and the first thing I did was get a bulk ink system for it.
I ran two of the factory carts dry in about 180 photos (4X6)
Total cost for cartridges for my printer is about $90.00 but the bulk in will last for over 10 sets, more like 12 or 13 then you just buy more ink for about $20.00 and refill the tanks and keep going.

My bulk ink system cost me around $35.00 so man you will save tons of money just off the first tanks as it comes full of ink....

If you cant find any for your printer its worth it to buy a printer that will take it as low as printers are now. I got the Epson Artisan 725 because I was in a pinch to get one fast when my other printer died, the message popped up the printer was outside the manufactures recommended usage for parts so I got a program to make it think it was serviced and they were right a week later some round springy thing broke (lol)

Great tip evil. I will look into it. Cause those itty bitty ink cartridges don't last long and sure are expensive to replace.!!

This is probably a dumb question, but where do you find the bulk ink systems? Is there a specific website or would you just google it? I'm definitely thinking about getting one....

Im sure there are websites out there that offer them but I find the best prices on ebay for them. Just search ebay with the model name of your printer and add the words "bulk ink" or bulk ink system.
I found that allot of the HP all in one printers did not have the bulk ink available but most epsons and allot of HP's do have them listed.
Mine is a Epson all in one with the scanner copier deal but before I bought a new printer I checked best buy's website on what they had currently for printers then looked on ebay for the bulk ink for it before I bought the printer to make sure I could get it (lol)

The only problem I ever ran into is since the printer decides when the ink cartridge is low without actually being able to check the cartridge and the bulk in your never low but sometimes it will tell me to replace the cartridge and all you have to do is unfasten the cartridge and slightly pull it out then push it back in and it thinks you put a fresh cartridge in and you good to go but most of the time the printer just resets itself back to full since the bulk ink system has a reset chip.

I will say I love mine, its been great especially since when I go on vacation I take around 2 to 3 thousand pictures and out of that I print about 3/4's so figuring the cost involved in factory cartridges I couldnt afford to do it otherwise.
One other thing if your into printing allot of pictures look on ebay for bulk printing paper like HP advanced you can get 4X6 real cheap if you buy 500 to a 1,000 of them at a time... They dont come in the box but they are still in the plastic sealed baggy

this is interesting.. i wonder if my printer will work for the bulk ink system..

now i just need to find out..

Not quite sure how printers work, so this could be a totally stupid question, but do they have bulk ink for laser printers?
I dont think so and its not a stupid question (I asked that one time not too long ago) lol I was told no but I think it has to do with the printer also some really big ones could have something from the factory that could be considered bulk ink but very expensive I would think.

Thanks! I did a little browsing, and haven't found anything yet (but, I haven't done actual active looking, either) its a HP Photosmart something or other... I have to check the number then I can actively look. I love the printer because it prints nice, but I hate having to buy ink so bulk would/will be great when/if I can find it.

I've always been told that the only dumb/stupid question is the one a person is too stupid to ask, lol. Not sure what kind of laser printer you have, but the one I have lasts for ages, and I print A LOT with my laser printer.
