Harry Potter free paper props - all movies and more!

Fantastic Work Schubro! Your Weasley collection is coming along great.

Schubro, I need your awesome work in my Collection.. LOL.. Nicely done..

Thanks Guys. That means a lot to me. We have a ton of talented people on this forum. I'm constantly amazed at what comes out of that talent.

Regarding the Decoy box...I had to make that from scatch. The dimensions, I'm sure are from the UK, but upon closer inspection I noticed the lid was stapled in several places so it may have been custom made. I used framing board from Hobby Lobby; thinner than foam board but thicker than poster board. It's the same stuff I used to make my Skiving Snack Box.

Schubro,
Wow, absolutely stunning work on your Decoy box:love Do you mind me asking the dimensions of your box? You may have said previously but I can't remember :facepalm
I love all of the labels being made here and it comes full circle when we can see them added to the bottles and boxes. It is that kind of
collaboration that makes me love this thread so much :)

First post in over a month as I've been away.

Congrats to lemon for his poster being being chosen by MinaLima.

Congrats to spiritwitch on her being chosen as a runner up.

Some really nice props being posted and made.

I received quite a few PMs and requests so it will take me a little time to get back to people.

Thought I would finish off the WOMBAT tests with the Grade 3 Test Booklet.

Prints out full size on legal size paper. Fold in half and staple and voila...

Sheet order is included in 1st Zip file.

I will be happy to give you the dimensions.

For those of you who don't know how to scale an object for fabrication or printing, this is the method I use.

I found a great heads on picture of the Weasley display case from the London tour. The picture had a front shot of the the Candy in a Can box which is based off the Oolong Tea box. I measured the Oolong Tea box I had and recorded the measurements. I then resized the picture to fit those measurements in Photoshop. I now have the width and height of every box in that display. I saved the image and can now measure any of them at my leisure. But the one thing I don't have is the depth (thickness) of the box.

That is where the previous link from Leaky Con comes in. I screengrabbed every image I could of MinaLima's slide show where you see every profile of the boxes and items. I measure the current width of that photo in Photoshop and already knowing what the width should be I then go to: 3 Way Percent Calculator and use the middle calculator. I type what I know the width should be and then what the measured width was. The calculator gives me the percentage of that and I plug that into the pixel dimension in Photoshop which resizes the image to the correct dimensions. I now can measure any side of the box I need to.

This is very cool, it's always nice when you're able to get very accurate measurements of the originals, it's like something secret revealing itself :D One other way is to use the Harry Potter prop cards for some of the paper props. Once you know the dimension of the swatch opening on the cards, you can also derive the scale if you happen to have some scans or images of the props to work with!

I agree. I noticed that I had the wrong dimensions after I saw the minalima slide of the nose biting tea cup. I now have to redo mine.

I just want to thank every one who posted the free paper props that I was able to use in this project. I have completed a Shadow Box for my friends Bday present on the Harry Potter series. This is the paper Hermoine had in her hand when she was petrified.

whered you get the badge?

riotgirl1324 those look really amazing. It's like something you'd see in a house dorm/common room at hogwarts. Your friend is going to be very happy :D

Riotgirl, the ministry visitor badge, is the frame metal or is it part of the printed picture? I can't tell.

Elliot,
This is awesome. I just made my own. Have you thought of changing the colours? like the Black and grey version inside the Film Wizardry book.
