Hello,
My name is Marc-André Vincent ( i'm french, sorry for the bad english ) and this is my first attempt to the fabrication of a prop, so i'm gonna share it with you.
My girlfriend is a huge Harry Potter fan and i wanted to do something for her for Valentines Day.
So i started with something simple a custom Wand and his box.
I tried to take a pictures at differents step of the fabrication, so this is the pic's.
Enjoy
============
Step 1 :
One Round beech rod ( 8mm diameter ) and i rounded one side.
( Dremel 3000 and sanding )

Step 2 :
I stuck two pearls ( 8mm diameter ) with glue
( glue gun )

Step 3 :
Painting
( Black spray paint and sanding )

Step 4 :
Waiting for the painting to dry so :
Creation of the box, i follow this patterne.
( Grey Cardboard 3mm thick and tape )

Step 5 :
Cuting the foam for the wand

Step 6 :
After the wand was dry, i make the handle, i want it to be in black leather.
I cut one old leather bag and exercise on the rest of the wood at first.
Good for me so lets go !
( Black leather and needle )

Step 7 :
My girlfriend is a Slytherin so i inlaid one green perle at the bottom of the handle.
( Green pearl and a drill )

Step 8 :
Let's go back to the box.
I don't have all the other photos but i have the materials and some sketchs.
I cover in black all the corner of the box with a shapie.
And cover the box with the paper with this shape.
( Black sharpie, black leather texture paper and double side tape )

Step 9 :
I print one sticker/label and i use some tea for making it look more old.
Make one custom with a little message and one "stamp" with my initial for a signature.
Top and side ( side sticker at the end )
( print and photoshop )

Step 10 :
Add some soft fabric for the foam where the wand will finish

Step 11 :
Cut one ribbon in green fabric ( Slytherin you know
)

Step 12 :
Add the stickers on the box and voilà !

Hope you like the post !
If you have some questions ?
Ask me i will respond with pleasure.
I will try to have some better exposed pics of the wand and box.
