Hi Folks,
I can't believe I've missed this thread for so long.
Has anyone around here done a good Voldemort?
I've been working on one for the last couple of years (I'm hoping he'll be "good" or I may very well cry!).
Like Fran (hi! [waves]) I'm with the UK Garrison/ 501st, and so I'm trying to make him as movie accurate as possible. The robes are all done, and I'm doing a full head prosthetic along with teeth, contacts, nails, etc.
If you want to check out some of how the build has evolved so far, check out my post over on the Cosforums (MuggleNet) site:
Creating movie accurate costumes - Chamber of Secrets
(... but if you want to cut to the chase, here's a pic of the finished sculpt in profile
The thread (and project) initially started out as with Lucius' Death Eater robes in mind but I eventually decided to do Voldemort instead thinking it would have been a cheaper and easier build..... ah well, I guess you learn by your mistakes :rolleyes
I've only scan read this thread but I saw someone mentioning the Nobel wands.
I know Voldy's is
spot on as apparently the moulds which Nobel use are cast copies from the actual
original moulds so they're about as close as you're going to get.
Admittedly it's a fair point about them maybe not holding up to cosplay, but I guess that depends on how much of a beating you plan on giving it
Re the replica robes, if they're that colour (i.e. that heavily mottled) I'd avoid them unless you plan on re-dying them (it's hard to see what the fabric is like so I can't really comment on that at the mo). In terms of colour, they're too light (although if you look in the trailer for the latest film it looks like they're getting lighter) but they're nowhere near that mottled.
The 2 Death Eater masks in the earlier bits of this thread look awesome - nice work both! :cool
Re the Death Eater robe sleeves, if you're still working on these let me know as I have a reference pic which may be handy showing the originals (it's a Behind the Scenes pic I found when I did my research for Lucius a while back)
If anyone is working on anything and has any questions, just shout - if I can help, I will
