Thanks Maelstrom. Busy working on his gun and holster. Found a site showing three different variants between each of the first (last?) films so had to be careful to ensure the blaster and holster are ANH (A New Hope) compliant.
Here's planning out the construction of the gun. I got sent a great reference shot of the actual blaster from the film. Resized it to scale so I know, working from this scaled pic, that it will be the right size.
There is a lot of detail to build into something that's only 20mm long. Phew!
Thanks. I've since refined the scope mount. It was too thick. I've also glued the gun into his hand and am busy building him some fingers. As far as attitude goes, even without fingers, he's beginning to look like the ****!
Gun glued into place. I still need to refine the fingers a little, plus add detail to the gun handle, which is slightly ribbed. After that, a good going over checking all the details, light sand to fix any trouble spots, then onto the priming.
Thanks. I'll prime it this week, then set about studying the work of a master modeler named Bill Horan who is an ace at figure painting, getting superb effects on figures even smaller than mine. Google him if you want to know more.
Just primed him with floquil primer. Will wait for him to dry a couple of days before assembling the arms and legs and head and body which I sprayed separately, then I'll post an academy shot of the grey primer figure, which always looks great. It's once you start adding color that things can fall apart.
Busy agonizing over how blue his pants are at the moment.
In the words of the immortal bard, screw it! I put him together and took some shots. He can dry as a complete assembly. Never have been known for my patience.
Hey everyone. A little hitch in my plans. Apparently, in the Mos Eisley scene on which this figure and pose are based, our man of the hour is actually wearing driving gloves! Two tone, tan and black according to my expert (and I mean expert) witness.
Guess who's now going to be adding gloves into the mix? Any reference photos or information gratefully accepted. It's a pain to have to do it after priming him but you get that on the big (or small) jobs.
