Han In Carbonite in Canada - Build thread

At this point I cant add anything under the corners. Its already got a 2×4 in each corner along with a wood backing to hold han. Thsts why I dont get it because the 2 pieces that come together are both screwed to the 2×4.

So I actually added a couple of scrap 2x4 pieces under the corner so now I have to use the Evercoat to fill the screw holes. It did actually help I think. Seems more stable and doesnt separate as much as before. There wasnt anything that went out that far.

My biggest issue now is getting the texture good and smooth. I'm gonna go get some really fine grit sandpaper to see if that helps with the MDF texture. I'm hoping once I do that and then paint it, that it will eventually smooth out with multiple coats.

If you read back my thread, what I did is shooting primer heavily then sanding with 400 grit it’s gonna polish that primer and push it into the woods!

Repeat that step 3-4 times and you’ll be golden! The primed surface will also help you see the imperfections.

The worst is the edges if you rounded them. That will leave the mdf exposed at its worst! For that, again, shoot the primer heavily and sand, repeat!

This sanding part has to be the worst part by far! It's so tedious! I had a feeling this would happen with the texture of the mdf

Im wondering if I should cut the full panel down near the feet straight across and being them down and then try to fill in the portion in between? I will be filling in a gap about 3-4 inches wide and all the way across. I'm still not sure how to ge that to match up. Guess I could do the wood glue idea.

I think we need to see pictures .. it would probably be better to start your own build thread and post pictures there with the button above here ^^^. Then I will chime in and other people too with proper tips!
