Re: Han in Carbonite.... Almost there..

Looking good! I have been collecting parts to start my own once the weather breaks. I have a couple questions, if you would be so kind. How are you securing the resin Han parts to the wood panel? My Han pieces also do not seem to want to lie flat on the wood panel. Will using a heat gun let them bend a little to get to lie flat? My pieces look like they are fiberglass and resin and not solid resin if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Re: Han in Carbonite.... Almost there..

I used epoxy glue to secure Han, for the parts that aren't flat I used heat gun. But I know what you mean, it's tricky to get him stright at the surface.

Re: Han in Carbonite.... Almost there..

I think you also need to use filler in some places as well.

Re: Han in Carbonite.... Almost there..

did you build the box from scratch, or is it the precut one from Xenix?

I actually built the box myself. It's MDF, so it's gonna be heavy.. Eventually it will hang in the entrance of the DICE company. I think that they manufactures
the new Star Wars Battlefront-game.

Re: Han in Carbonite.... Almost there..

I have the stormrider front parts and am wondering what is the best type of spray primer to use on the rubber surface?

Looking great!

Re: Han in Carbonite.... Almost there..

I'm sorry, but the surface on my Han is made of resin (I think).

Re: Han in Carbonite.... Almost there..

What electronics will you be using. I am building my HIC now as well.

Re: Han in Carbonite.... Almost there..

I'd like to see some more of the paint side of the builds... I'm doing mine up in June, and the paint always sells these... it would be great to see some different ways people have gone about it.

For Hero panel 1 I will use Modeljag's kit. For Hero panel 2 and the rest, I have constucted my own electronics.

I'll see what pics I have from when I did the painting.
