Quick detour from Project 1278 to bring this guy to life. Seeing how my vintage life-sized Boba Fett action figure is almost done, seems fitting to add this guy to his side. I opted for this version because it was the first ever HIC action figure released. I loved playing with this figure (even though they left off his toes) and Slave 1 when I was a kid. From the great James Earl Jones himself..........."memories so thick I have to brush them away from my face."

As with the previous Luke Skywalker project, I am offering these files for sale on my Etsy shop. When complete, this will stand over 6 feet tall. It comes cut into 32 pieces, but I'm also including the model in one piece in the event someone has a larger printer and wants to cut it themselves. It also comes with decal image files.

More info here https://echobasestudios.etsy.com. I'm also offering a 50% off code for RPF members if you message me at echobasestudiosaz on Facebook.

As soon as I finish printing these last few Luke pieces, this sucker is next up!

Thanks.......AZ

I'm confused.....

Is this something you're building and then going to show us...?..Or is this just an ad for the files....;)

Yes, just like all my others, building. This is the finalized design, I’ll post some progress picks soon.

So these are large prints, roughly 10.5" x 7" x 9". I did end up with some scaring from the supports since I printed this upside down to save on time and material, but I may need to look at other options for orientation. Easy enough to correct some areas with bondo or resin, but again, I can mess with some of the settings to reduce the amount of post work.

The model was keyed with channels, so each block will connect to the next with pieces of 3/16" rod. There are also spots down each side and across the top and bottom to add 3 rods for strength and stability.

I'm going to print the bottom two rows at 20-25% infill, the next 3 at 15-20%, and the top 3 at 10-15%. This will be displayed upright, so making it heavier at the bottom and lighter at the top should help.

This one is gonna take a little bit of work.....................
