Han in Carbonite.... Finally there..

At last, my friends. I'm finally finished, tomorrow I will deliver this to EA Games (the DICE company). Here are a few pics.
I know there are more led's than the original, but the client wanted it to be more eye catching.

I love it! I like the darker color of the control panels. It really makes the greeblies pop.
Excellent work.

Re: Han in Carbonite.... Almost there..

I actually built the box myself. It's MDF, so it's gonna be heavy.. Eventually it will hang in the entrance of the DICE company. I think that they manufactures
the new Star Wars Battlefront-game.

:eek Holly Molly!!! yes they do!!!

Nils, that turned out fantastic! Awesome job on this. I've been neglecting my HIC work, and this is really giving me the itch to get back at it.

Thanks guys! Now with all the extra time, maybe I should get back to my SS Probe Droid that I have been neglecting.

So after a couple of builds going on in the last bit, what would the opinion be of JUST going right to Bondo... no glue?

I gotta figure this out... I don't like the soft glue texture, but just a whole thing of Bondo may be too much? (I've never used it... maybe it's easier?)

This is actually a very good question, after my latest event, I think that starting with Bondo and soften up the edges with glue (if needed).
But thats just me..

Agreed. After my glue experience, I would probably go with Bondo from the start. Jedifyfe mentioned a product called Evercoat that might be easier to work with. I've never used Evercoat, but I had a good experience with Bondo. Just be prepared to do lots of sanding.

How so sanding... slap it down, let it dry, then work it into a smooth look.

Seems backwards.

hm.

Maybe the bondo with glue to take down edges. thing...

I think it's all personal preference in the end. I spent a lot of time pouring different layers of glue only to end up not liking it and covering the whole thing with Bondo. For me, there was a lot of trial and error but I'm really happy with my end result.

Mine is mostly wood glue with only bondo/evercoat on the edges near the box frame.

well I guess I'll see come June.

You guys have me so hyped... Damn. Wanna get going NOW.

Han on one side of the TV... Deagostino Falcon on the other...

10 year old me wants to high-five 38 year old me so bad.
