That is a great original prop..... not one of my favorite of the Michael Myers Designs.... I think he was too smooth and looked like a punk rocker with that hair..... but still a great score. I will always have a soft spot for the original mask from the first film.

That's a great piece! The hair application on the screen-used KNB masks has always been one of my favorites of the series. It looks more like a real human hairline because it's blended in so well with the surrounding paint, and the crazy bed-head style of each one works so well on screen. It *is* rather sad that KNB chose to go by Don Post's "The Mask" so closely, but the end result is actually pretty creepy when worn by Durand on set, so I forgive them.

Anyway, yeah! Thanks for sharing these great photos! Is it just me, or does this mask look a bit like Greg Nicotero?...

Is this one based off the old William Shatner mask from the first one? Or was it an entirely new sculpt? Incredible detail--what a find!
