Greetings.

I am currently attempting to finish all projects involving fiberglass, bondo, and spray paint this winter now that I've got an available work-room. One of these things will be the HEV armor that has been on hold for some time now. Also there is a group of people collaborating to re-create the first Half-Life game with all updated graphics and so forth.

So far I've learned that ANYONE can don a piece of crap tape and cardboard HEV armor and draw a goatee on with a marker and be counted as a totally awesome person in the gaming nerd society, and just about every geek and nerd on the Internet with a photo of themselves with a goatee instantly get a photo of the real Gordon Freeman next to their photo because that supposedly makes them look like him. Just about every nerd of every kind have been put on custom case graphics for the upcoming Half-Life remake.

I have a feeling this re-make will be released soon, which is why I want to finish my own HEV as fast as possible and get photos of it published, because I'm damn well excited about this game and hope that maybe even some gamer nerd will use one of my photos for any case covers or anything like that related to this game since they've used pretty much everyone else with a goatee, only I will make some totally awesome photos of my shiny metallic HEV armor once it's finished.

Alas I'm 4 years younger than the guy and am not sure if I'd look old enough for this part if I finish this costume this year, so I took a photo of me just now to ask what you all think? If I'd wait for me to hit 27, I'm sure the hype around the half-life re-make will be long since gone, so I don't know...

Anyway, I've figured that I'd also like to make some more photos wearing the clothes you see with the labcoat and all and thought I might as well make an own costume page for these clothes since they could actually count as a different costume all together, but I have no idea what to call this costume. Black Mesa cloth-stuff? Work clothes? Lab attire? Nerdsuit? What?

Well that didn't really answer my question. I'll be 24 soon, so how much can a guy change in three years anyway. Besides the real Freeman doesn't really look as old as people think he does, supposing the first artwork where he looks 40 years old had something to do with that.

The Half-Life remake called Black Mesa was released not long ago, so at least a few photos could be made up to the point where I need the HEV.

Woke up late this morning for the hazard course training, now I'm 30 minutes late for work already...

Always cool stuff to see on the tram ride, such as box lifting robots.

Need to hurry to the personnel quarters to pick up my HEV suit before anyone notices I'm late...

As for the HEV suit, I've finished most of the template shapes for it already and got four of the parts fiberglassed. Don't really have many photos to show of that now, but lets just build up some anticipations...

You look spot on. Although I have to say I too prefer the new design... The old artwork makes me want to puke. I'm sure whatever you do will look great though, just don't be afraid to give yourself some artistic freedom with the design.

That's great Half-Life is my favorite video game series, so that's just awesome that I can fit as the main character. Hah, I feel the complete opposite about the two HEV versions, the new Mark V just seems so damn boring to me compared to the Mark IV that I'm working on. I mean, Mark IV actually looks like a technological suit while the mark V just looks like he's wearing plastic with some abdomen pillows. But that's just me, to each his own.
