Green Lantern movie rings at Toys R Us

Where did you get the rim and how did you put it on the ring?

The silver rim I got from a pen. But I can't remember which one it was. I used two-part epoxy to first glue the silver rim to the gem. Then I glued that to ring. Always applying the glue to the back just in case I made a mistake and used too much epoxy.

I hate to necro a semi old thread but did anyone ever source a good pen for the correct ring? Ive tried a couple but havnt found one that still shows the small steps around the center.

That small step represents the silver ring (it is suppose to be painted silver). So if you are going to add a silver metal ring, you want to cut that step out and replace it with the silver ring of the size to fit that area.

Picked up one of these rings. They have a whole box of these there. Unfortunatly, the ring is alot smaller then what everyone here said...just fits on my pinky finger :'(

Holy moly dude! How big are your hands! I thought this ring was pretty generously sized - but, you know what they say about guys with big hands?

But you cant cut the step out of the TRU ring, because the step is part of the "gem". The "gem" and that ring/step are 1 piece and cover the rivet.

no. the gem is seperate from the main section with the faux ring.

I did what others recommended here.

1. Get a small (eyeglass style) flathead screwdriver
2. Carefully work it in between the ring and the gem and pop out the gem.
3. You can then drill out the rivet like post that holds the main section in place.
4. Use a drill bit slightly larger the the opening on the main piece to drill/cut out the part that represents the ring.

I could have sworn there was just 1 step/ring attached to the faux gem. And that 1 step was the unpainted silver ring. Its been a while since I actually messed with my ring, but I really thought there was a ring attached to the gem.

I was right. There is 1 ring around and attached to the gem. Thats supposed to be the silver ring.

Although it looks like all one piece, the gem is seperate. If you push down on the gem with your finger and twist, you can just barely feel it move.

Have you taken one of these apart yet?

Yes. I have. I have pictures of my ring a few pages back. There is 1 lone ring attached to the gem/rivet cover. The "steps" are part of the ring face. But 1 ring is on the faux gem.
