Ginger Snaps - 1:6 scale Sculpts

Re: Ginger Snaps - Prequel Bust Trio - Contains a Werewolf

This has been a disaster project from the get-go, not to mention problems of any kind. Have been away from it for so long, I've actually been thinking of scrapping it completely.

ALL my projects are on hold... heck... everything in my life is... and I need to get back on track. I see the finished sculpts in my mind... but it won't extend to my fingers, if you know what I mean.

Will give this one more try and see how it goes...

Use the force NHM....let go....:cool

Sorry your having trouble...got some projects on hold myself. Not enough hours in the day. I really hope this turns around for you...I know you've been working on them for a while.

Hope everything else is good also.:thumbsup

Re: Ginger Snaps - Prequel Bust Trio - Contains a Werewolf

Finally got some work done on the wolf's head. No commitments for the rest of the week, so could possibly get some more done. Crossing fingers. Will show pics as soon as possible.

Bump for progress?

Looking forward to see how this turns out.
Cool, thanks.

Well... the head is turning pale white... simply because I added white... but the upper half of the head shape is pretty much complete. Though, because I didn't attach the skull to a stick prior to baking it, it is quite difficult to handle it... though... I'm not complaining and will hopefully get some more work done soon.

Man... gotta get that molding stuff learned so I can finish up my other figure. :cry

I know it isn't much, but here's the first look at the body.... sorry, didn't get to take a picture of the armature on its own... was too excited to not throw on some super sculpey right then and there... and this is the result from two days ago... have worked on it more today: bulked it up a bit.

The left leg has been left out, as I have already sculpted that - so needs to be fitted to this later... the head has also advanced a little, since the last shot.

Looking forward to showing you more progress! :thumbsup

Added the head and built up the chest, neck & shoulder area as well as the butt and thighs. The left front leg is not yet attached but added in the pictures.

Also working on the wire-frames for the two girls, which will be full figures, but sitting in an embrace.

Still pondering whether I should have them wear their full winter's clothes and coats, or the evening dresses they wore or go further and have them stripped down to their corsets and undergarments, as seen in the movie. Big decisions.

I have three options here... but wanna make them sensual in a way, so the outdoors clothes may be too much. I won't do a direct scene from the movie... so anything goes, I guess...

Whatever it ends up with... pretty much all of the original stuff I did is unusable... but it made me push further and push me to work out the wire-frame stuff for the figures instead... to have a sense of the full figure prior to starting the sculpey work - has helped tremendously.

Will post more when I get a little further.

Again... any suggestions are welcome! :thumbsup

More progress:

Interesting that I'm actually re-creating what I did with the busts... just a shame they were too large and un-workable... otherwise I could simply have worked on from those... bummer. Oh well... these will turn out much better and will be much better supported internally. This is progressing nicely... I really like how they are shaping up. :thumbsup

Latest progress. Started with detailing on the chest area on the Ginger figure and also began work on the jacket she'll be wearing. Will soon begin work on the Bridgette sculpt too, so that they'll finish up roughly at the same time.

Cheers.

Thats looking very poetic and classical. Even at this stage its very beautiful work to look at.

Thanks.

More work. Started working on the sister... so that's shaping up now... looks a little odd atm, but that will be fixed when I start working on her dress and coat. Hope to get started on their heads and hair soon... oh... and their arms and hands.

Enjoy:

Initial progress on the face. I know, I know... it looks pretty crappy right now, but really hope to get the likeness right on this one. Wish me luck.

Made some changes to the Ginger sculpt. With her bust pushed up so much by the corset and dress I had made too much upper chest and the collar bone area and neck was placed too high on the sculpt. Still refining that, so have no picture of that yet. Also had to completely scrap the face, as the eyes kept sinking into the skull whenever I worked on it, so I have made two new "skull" heads with eyes and intend to bake those before adding the outer layer, representing skin. Doing this to keep the eyes in place. So, however much I liked my progress on the face, it was simply too much of a pita to continue working on it. Also have no pictures of that either.

What I do have a picture of is some progress on the wolf. I took the suggestion made, either here or elsewhere (sorry, been a long while since I posted to and read this thread), about the eyes being too far apart and that it would end up biting me in the rear if I didn't take that into consideration. Having taken the step to cut out the eyes and parts of the face to slim it a bit, as the face appears a bit huge on that body, I re-did the eyes a bit closer together and a bit higher on the skull. Nut sure if it is completely right yet, but will figure that out. Decided to give it ears to kinda get more of a feel for the sculpt to see what was off and what was right. With all my handling, parts of what I had done before has become pushed askew and will need to be fixed... but here is a picture of the current progress. Maybe the head won't look so huge when I get to doing hair all over the body as well!?

Enjoy:

Forget the bright colors. The filler part was done with the remaining of the 30 color sample pack and WILL be covered completely by the regular super sculpey color when doing all the fur and detailing.

Then I took a break from the wolf to relax and do other stuff. After a while I got the urge to go back and redo the girls. Yes, I destroyed the other sculpts to have sculpey enough and started from scratch. The shape is so much better and easier to work with because I chose a metal wire armature instead of a solid clay shape. They are nearly as far as the other two were in terms of general look and shapes. May go for a different wardrobe for the pair, making them appear more vulnerable, yet strong and able to defend themselves.

This is the progress from a few days ago:
