I've never see this movie(s), but I'm curios about the result, since your Mal's face have a great likeness to the actor, so... :)

Definitely a trilogy worth seeing, imo.

And thanks. Just hope that that wasn't just a fluke chance of pure luck... really hope I can capture their likeness...

YES, OH YES... IT'S ROCKING... YEEEEEEES...

Finally got my hands dirty again. WOOHOO... started shaping the inner workings of the busts of the two girls and the face of the wolf and one of the legs. Will wrap all clay pieces with tin foil to prevent the super sculpey from cracking as before. Am looking for a way to do a cool base for the busts... and am planning on making a forest-esque scene or something where the wolf steps out of the shadows, with the girls slightly behind it or something... man... it sounded cool in my head... but it would probably not be functional... don't worry, will think of something. :thumbsup

Will try and do a drawing of what I had in mind... and then you can comment on it when posted...

Less posts and more work. :D

Oh... don't worry... I'm working... just gotta get rid of this annoying virus bugging me... grr... :cry

But I'm working. ;)

Been a fan of Ginger Snaps since of first stumbled upon it at the video store. Interested to see how this turns out, looks pretty cool.

Had to reposition the ear, as it was sitting too low... now it is sitting more correctly, more on top of the head as it does in the screen capture. Looking way more right and menacing now, imo. Will hopefully get to work some more on it soon... and can't wait to do the teeth. :thumbsup

I'm an idiot.

Made more progress on the wolf's head, but had to start over completely on the human face, as I was forgot to wrap the clay with tin foil prior to putting on the super sculpey, naturally resulting in it drying up and cracking. STUPID, STUPID ME...

Now wrapped up I'm gonna start over on that one.

Wrapped the other pieces as well and have begun shaping out the wolf's leg and one of the torsos. YAY... at least SOME progress. :thumbsup

A little progress on the wolf.

Have also begun "fleshing out" the torsos... making steady progress... I really like this project. :)

Though feeling lousy as pretty much hell, I managed to get started on the new face, as the old one cracked and crumbled... bummer. A face is definitely starting to shape up, but it is not determinable as Ginger yet... and I just gotta say: her mouth is pretty damn difficult to get right. :confused ... And it's pretty hot in here in my skin and my eyes hurt, so it's hard to concentrate.

Also cut off the lower jaw of the wolf's head, so I could reshape the upper jaw - looks much better now.

Face is a waste... gotta start over. :unsure

Have worked on one of the torsos... working slow... but slowly getting somewhere... hope to have pictures to show soon. :thumbsup

Will be busy with other stuff over the weekend... cleaning house... so won't get to work on this until sometime next week, but then I definitely plan on getting a lot of work done on at least one of the busts, if not both and the wolf. Will be re-doing the fur on the wolf's head and will do more on the paw and leg and possible bake it prior to adding fur to retain its overall shape.

Can't wait to show off the progress... :)

Have worked some more on the wolf's head and the torso... hope to have some pictures to show you tomorrow.

Lengthened the snout of the upper jaw of the wolf and it is already looking much better and a lot less like a hyena and more like a wolf, imo. Am really looking forward to staring work on the teeth and lower jaw as it is a really gnarly looking beast.

For the torso I went for the evening gown design... need to add the stitched heart on the chest... and looking forward to tackling the head sculpt... it has been tough so far, with a few bad versions. Really hope that I can capture the likeness of Katherine Isabelle & also Emily Perkins when I get to her... I really think this will be the last likeness sculpt for a while, more concentrating of more generic sculpts or creatures.

No longer on limited supply of sculpey, so work can hopefully move a little faster now. Also think I will redo the composition of the trio, having the two busts of the girls be at ground level, in front of the wooden wall of the fort where the wolves has scratched a hole in the wood and one bursting through. Really think this will be a better look for the piece.

The name for the sculpt will most likely be Sisters United in Blood, which, iirc, is the tag-line for the third film. :cheers.

Am really trying to get you an update on the Mal Reynolds sculpt, but so far I have no clue how to mold him without damaging him in the process. :cry

I think my inexperience and lacking patience to do prep-work and use proper armatures is working against me... curses.

The wolf's head is gone... it broke apart today when I was handling it. I kinda should have known it would happen, as this was the remaining piece with a clay armature kinda interior... and all the others had broken apart and had to be redone - but had sorta hoped that this one wouldn't.

Oh well... time to rethink the whole construction of the wolf's head. Have decided to do the skull - upper and lower jaw - and teeth first, then bake that and add skin, texture, eyes, and hair on top of that. Have finished with the upper part of the skull and most of the teeth for the upper jaw, except the molars.

Doing it this way will allow me to do it more realistically. Am planning on a closed mouth version... but could work it into an open mouthed version if that would look cooler... actually... that may look better with the changes in the composition I have made to the trio sculpt: will have the two girls to the right, holding on to each other, with the fort wall behind them where a wolf has clawed through the wooden beams and has the head and right paw sticking through the hole at the left.

This improved composition has more links with the movie itself than my previous concept drawing ideas had. Though, now that I have bought more Super Sculpey, I am unsure, once again, whether I should stick with the bust design or make full figures, as originally planned.

Tough choices... and really hope to get started on the face sculpts soon.

Still sux that the wolf's head broke apart... :cry there were definitely some parts of it I liked. Oh well... just bummer and move on, I guess. :thumbsup
