Gauge from Jaeger Pilot Suit (Pacific Rim)

Trying to ID components in gauges of Pacific Rim Jaeger costumes.
Any idea what these tubes are or where this gauge came from?

They look like mercury pressure gauges of some kind, backlit when the suit is in use.

I thought they might have been vfd tubes until I saw closeups from a Legacy Effects video. Was hoping to use some I had waiting for such a project.

The back part looks like one of the sockets used in the Hellboy Rasputin Glove,

The tubes seem to be liquid filled and have a ball floating in them, maybe some sort of pressure gauge?
 
Given the context I assume it's supposed to be some kind of pressure gauge, but they usually seem to have needle/dial indicators. Probably easier to mock up with clear tubing, ball bearings and clear sealant than to find, but it would be great to include an actual part if I could identify it. It might be something like this one-way ball check valve:
