Hello everyone,

I am currently in last phase of building my Gandalf the Grey cosplay, i'm looking into having the closest to accurate Gandalf's brown wooven belt, but i wouldn'nt know where to start as you can't find one anywhere to buy on the internet. All the beautiful ones i see are self made. Does any one have hints as to wher to find a patron or a walkthrough explaining how to do it and what's the fabric exactly ? thank your very much

Please research "8 strand flat braid". A lot of videos will show the technique using round cord like paracord. If instead you use flat, thin straps of equal width I believe you can achieve what you are looking for. When each strand comes to the edge, I believe it "rolls" over so the flesh, or finished side of the leather which was facing front - is now facing to the back so both sides are "finsihed" leather.
