Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

Does anyone know what 'shipping label created' means on the USPS tracking function? It's been like that since the 6th.

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

I had the same thing for a while. Just received my items from Roman today. I think it's just him getting things prepped for shipment including labels on boxes etc. before it's actually received by the post office.

The graflex was in my mailbox yesterday! It turned out great and will soon be an ESB saber. :D
I did notice that the oval greeblie thing to the left of the beer tab is loose and slides forward and back freely, is it supposed to do that?

Yes. Its the on\off switch for the light inside the glass eye.

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

Just got my ESB kit! Anyone know if I put the grips on, THEN drill holes, if the heat will screw up the adhesive and make it move or anything? Anyone done an ESB that way? Also the card has an ESB A and B side...is one more accurate to a particular scene or something?

Love the kit Roman, thanks!

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

I always had it in my mind I'd attach the grips, then drill. The material is thin enough that it doesn't take much to get through, so it shouldn't build up that much heat.

I'm thinking of doing the same but quite nervous about it. If you try it before I get to, can you post your results?

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

That's what I did on my ESB saber. I epoxied the grips first, then drilled through the grips and flash.

EDIT:
I assume that you're worried about the double sided tape getting warm and working loose now that I go back. I wouldn't worry about it, although to be extra safe, maybe wait a day or 2 after adhering the grips before drilling the holes, that way the adhesive has more time to set up.

That looks great! When I switched the clamp for ANH, I never managed to put back the screw on the clamp :/ It was impossible to make the little rectangle piece fit back on the inner part of the clamp.

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

I guess the consequences are minimal if the tape gets hot. I'll just go back and epoxy if it softens and the grips are loose...I'll report back in a few days I guess. I know brass is soft, so maybe if I drill a hole, let it cool before doing the next one, and just spread it out I'll be fine.

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

I would drill the holes on the grips, attach them and then use the existing holes on the grips as guides to drill on the saber. For me, It would be easier to lay the grips on a flat surface to make the holes than drilling thru the grips attached on a curved surface. Either way, always make a pilot hole first.

The Roman grips have the holes already.

Thanks, I managed to get it back in after some effort, but I'm not sure if it should be there. I think it stops the clamp from closing as tight as it could. I had to pack the bubble strip with tape to stop it sliding about.

Re: === G R A F L E X === Flashgun ... NOW SHIPPING!!!

Got my grips on. They're not QUITE perfect, but they're as good as I'm likely to get them. Drill? Or just glue screw heads to the grips in case I simply HAVE to adjust them later?
