The graflex was in my mailbox yesterday! It turned out great and will soon be an ESB saber.
I did notice that the oval greeblie thing to the left of the beer tab is loose and slides forward and back freely, is it supposed to do that?
I always had it in my mind I'd attach the grips, then drill. The material is thin enough that it doesn't take much to get through, so it shouldn't build up that much heat.

The Roman grips have the holes already.I would drill the holes on the grips, attach them and then use the existing holes on the grips as guides to drill on the saber. For me, It would be easier to lay the grips on a flat surface to make the holes than drilling thru the grips attached on a curved surface. Either way, always make a pilot hole first.
That looks great! When I switched the clamp for ANH, I never managed to put back the screw on the clamp :/ It was impossible to make the little rectangle piece fit back on the inner part of the clamp.
