He hasn't responded to paypal since I filed the claim 4 days ago. Probably have to wait the full 10-11 days for resolution.

For those past the deadline, you might call Paypal. I'm sure it's a red flag that they're getting so many of the same claim.

I paid in full on June 14, 2017 and I am #7 on the original run. I have stopped receiving any updates and have emailed Paul and Sara personally and I’ve received no responses to my emails. I am staying on this run but I’m growing more and more discouraged by the day. Please MIMIC!!

I have to assume that PayPal is watching this account due to the number of volume of claims against his, well against Sara's, account. This could end his paypal privelegs if not settled properly.

That's who I paid to and like everyone else no response to the claim and no messages either. At least settle up and we can go to different vendors mimic.

My guess is there is no money to give back.
With anovos they just keep getting orders in and pay people back and even that's pulling teeth

When Paul took more orders I'm assuming he was trying to get more funds to complete the first kits. But with so many mistakes and trips to landfill and bad estimate of cost I can imagine he is well over taxed.

My guess is there is no money to give back.

I have a feeling that there is a fair amount of truth in that statement. I don't know what happens when Paypal closes a claim on our behalf and there not being any funds to return.

If this is the case and he does not have the money to give back, then we will need to still get our armor from him in the order we placed or we all will need to take a more legal route for resolution.

Gents, I almost paid into this this week! I’m glad I read the entire thread. I’m sure he’s working on it and the badgering isn’t helping. Either way, this is what I found on PayPal’s site—

“ Purchase Protection covers all eligible purchases where PayPal is used, as well as payments made through our website. To take advantage of Purchase Protection, we require, among other things, that PayPal accounts be kept in good standing and ask that a dispute be filed within 180 days of your purchase or payment.”

I’m guessing for those of you who paid with a credit card you’re going to have to deal with the cc company and PayPal won’t help. As for those that did immediate bank transfers, they can open a fraud investigation as well.

What I’m hoping for everyone here is Mimic is just turned off the computer to work on everyone’s armor. Fingers crossed for everyone!!

Thanks for the info. I hope that is the case, especially since MIMIC is not responding. All I know is that I treat every customer that I have with great respect. I have built and sold over 100 backpacks for Stormtroopers. I have had people request refunds and have given them immediately. I also communicated daily even though I have a day job. As of now I have had very little communication from him. I informed him over a month ago that I had lost my job and needed the money to pay bills. Then I found out that my armor had not even been started. Thus I filed a claim. I would prefer to have the armor. But since I have absolutely no idea when I would receive it, I am hesitant to stay in. Due to the number of people that have paid in full on this and are on this forum daily, there is no reason that mimic cannot respond to everyone everyday. The way I see it he has well over $15,000 of our money at least. And no one has received the first piece of armor yet. Many people have requested that he give us dates for the armor and when it will be ready and he has never provided those.

I do not know about you, but I do not run my business that way. Reputation is everything. If you are ignoring your paying customers, then something serious is going on. What I would like to know is exactly how many people have paid for this armor. From what I can tell it looks to be close to 15 people. If you take that number and multiply it by the amount we all paid, you are talking close to 20,000 dollars USD.

Holy crap. $20K? That’s— wow. Just wow. I’m speechless. Again, I’m really hoping he’s just turned off the computer and doing his best to get things finished. Laying up fiberglass and finishing the pieces is a LONG process that’s really hard. And I just wish he’d felt comfortable letting everyone know what was happening.

Me, when I do any kind of “work for hire,” I certainly keep everyone updated. Even if it’s bad news. I hope he does the same.

If mimic wasn't really really busy before then he's probably under a lot of pressure now with refund claims added to the mix, I paid for a helmet back in august because I didn't want to miss out completely on this run, still really can't afford the kit at the moment but that's out of my control at this stage.
i have watched mimics customer feed backs and had a look at his previous products offered and would think that he's not the sort to throw that all away.
