First sculpt. Halo MK VI helmet.

Cheers man :)

Yeah I know there some bits different on mine, in fact there are a lot more than that but I wanted my own touch on it and after looking through all the images I found no two were really the same. Well they were of course but with all the variations I though sod it, I'm making this one mine :)
Although thank you for pointing out the line you circled in purple I completely forgot to add that. I will be adding the visor indent circled in orange after casting though cause just trying to get that Perspex in the sculpt was a pain so getting the cut outs lined up would have been worse.

I hear ya. I'm not knocking your sculpt, just wanted to point out what I noticed. When I was putting together my (formerly owned) thorssoli MK6 helmet, I based it off of the Halo 3 trailer helmet (the one I posted) as I felt it was a really good source of High Rez reference of what Bungie wanted the helmet to appear like. I even re-sculpted the side vents to match it.

As for the helmet indent, do you plan on making it recessed into the visor? I have yet to see anyone accomplish this so far and I'm curious to see if you were..keep it up!

I know you werent knocking it mate :)
I am not sure about the visor yet, it will be a seperate sculpt that I will be vacuum forming. Looking at images its unclear as whether its an indent in the visor or not because its not gold.

It's indented, in that the trapezoid shape sits flush with the visor. I've spent a hot minute researching the halo 3 mk6 armor. You'll find that it's the same for the in-game models as well. I wanted to modify my helmet's visor (I.E., cut my visor) to allow it to sit as it should, but I didn't want to run the risk of ruining it. Perhaps the alternative would be to form the indentation into your visor and have a separate resin piece to sit into it.

inspiring! very nice! Looks like you are taking sculpting to a next level.

Cheers RD. I must say though its not a patch on EvilFX's Didact sculpt https://www.facebook.com/pages/Evil-FX-Props-Armor/305941566119243?ref=ts&fref=ts

So is it an indent in the visor with a piece slightly smaller sat in it? I just can't tell from the pic.

Edit: Ah no I got it now :)

Wow Drack..watching this makes me wonder why anybody would prefer bondo over clay after pepping & fiberglassing a helmet. This so clean looking! please go into detail about how you mold a clay helmet. Following this for sure.

Wow very nice work mate!..Love how clean the lines are. Cannot wait to see how it turns out.

What kinda clay are you using mate.?

Cool... This looks really good!!!

Wow, very nice work indeed. Be interesting to see how it moulds :)

Cheers guys :)

Garlicbread, it moulds the same as anything else you just have to be a little bit more careful not to disturb any of the details. I knocked a some of them when removing the divider but will fix them today before doing the second part of the mould.

Small update.

Progress has been slow because I have been working on my new kitchen but managed to get bits done here and there on the helmet. Got the silicone all done and mohawk ready for the mother mould. Should have it done in the next few days hopefully :)

Lol, cheers man. It's only a tiny bit of work. The crappy phone camera pic doesn't show the imperfections up. I am waiting on some filler to dry then I can get it sanded ready for paint :)

Got the helmet all sanded. Hit it with red primer cause not only was it all I had left its good for showing any imperfections. Because this will be my helmet I couldnt be bothered sorting the last tiny bits so will be fitting lights painting it up tonight :)
