I spent a little time yesterday looking for the prosthetic hand after finding a list of prosthetic device patent applications! I covered everything from 1982 back to 1961, but didn't have any luck. I'll dig a little further back when I get a chance.

Another small update. Yesterday I was able to go to Ikea and pick up one of their lamps to use as a base:

It's a smidge small, but I think it will work fine. Plus for $45 it's a whole lot cheaper than having another fiberglass dome made and clean it up.
