Female Yautja build - (wip)

Everything is looking awesome so far.

Just a suggestion on the design of the bio... the one you've chosen to model after is a bit boxy in the jaw area for my taste. Speaking as a woman i'd still want to give the impression of femininity in the bio... it's why I chose the one that I have which is almost birdlike in it's appearance. It has a very slim and slight jaw area, and a larger crown. This gives a more "feminine" look to the bio compared to the others that are out there.

When you're modeling yours you might want to try to apply that aesthetic to it... keep all the cool doodads, but see if you can keep it slim and angular.

I know it's hard to describe what I'm saying, but I guess compare the look of the Falconer's bio to the Classic predator and you'll see what I'm talking about.

here's josh's and my bios side by side. Mine clearly has a more feminine appearance due to the proportions of the face and crown, whereas josh's has all that business going on the front and it's very big and boxy (MANLY) :)

Thinking about the undermask, the only thing that I see that might *might* be an issue is the relationship to the "pie crust" (or crown) of the undermask and the forehead. If you look at the second to last photo above when it's on the armature you can see that the crown is set down lower than the top of the mannequin's head... that could make fitting a bio difficult.

Maybe it's just the angle of the picture?

Really digging the other bracer too, and the bit you've added to the front.

If I do get a chance to buy casts of all of this from you (and since my Huntress has a plasma cannon) I wonder if there would be a way to add a stylistic touchpad section on the front part you've added to the bracer...? Nothing big and boxy like the movie preds have... but maybe something smaller and sleek, which just shows the pred runes flashing and maybe a button or two?

Just a thought.

I got the sculpt for the 2nd gauntlet done and taking the advise sevenstar75 I made it a computer gauntlet. I laser cut the computer details and lated them into the clay. I got started slapping latex on this for the mold.

I also got the blade design all done. I went for the same basic design except thicker and with the center filled in. A nice coat of paint and this will be ready to mold. I figure I can cast a few and try cutting out the center and see how they hold up.

The bomb gauntlet is precisely what I was thinking of! Well done!

Blades are brilliant as well. You are killing this!!! :)

I got the mold done for the gauntlet blades and ran a few casts. They came out really good. I used a tinted black resin and extended the back a bit so they can be used in for other gauntlet projects. They are very sturdy, I'm gonna cut out the center windows to see how they look and feel.

The blade on the top is the master. The actual cast is below.

Nice work, I didn't realize they were going to have open sections, great idea and anxious to see how that turns out. ;-)

I got the first cast from the computer gauntlet mold and it turned out pretty well. There were some issue though. The vent details are laser engraved MDF board pressed into the clay. The details are engraved to deep. The latex did flow into the details but it was to thin and just kinda turned to crap when pulling the latex mold. Lesson learned do not make the details so deep.

The profile of the vents came out ok in the mold and cast so I can cut out the details, mold them separate and glue them back in.

For the 1st cast I just filled them in. I kinda like the clean look of the gauntlet without the details. Even when I was sculpting this with the details I was not sure how they would look but I figured I will mold them as is and I can always fill them in later.

I made a set of stamps of the Pred. symbols in different sizes. These worked out good in the clay and came out nice in the cast. These will definitely be used in future sculpts.
