Very nice.
So, have you decided what era the character is from? If there's a Sith academy, I'm assuming Old Republic, around the time of Revan and such. But I was curious.
Good question! I've been thinking this up and I think, last night, I had a good surge of plot bunnies going.
She's from the old republic era, but when the jedi defeated their particular faction, her master froze her with sith magics. I don't know if carbonite was a thing back then, I'll have to research the thing on the wookie, but sith magics and carbonite, for now. She was later awoken in the old temple, by a smuggler during the clone wars. So, she was frozen and preserved in time, for that long.
Her master hoped she would be awakened and continue his vision all this time later, if he were to expire. However, she was none to happy about him doing that to her, so she took her own initiative and went Rogue. Awakening out of a thousand year slumber was none too pleasant. She slaughtered the smuggler and his crew and stole their ship, flying it to the nearest planet, which was Nar Shadda. Scummy life and what not, so she fit right in. Being bare of credits she kinda pushed her weight around with her darkside abilities and people let her alone after she flung them out the window, through the wall, or threatened them with her lightsaber. She pretty much got to eat and drink for free, lol.
She starts doing bounty hunter work and goes where the money takes her. She swears her allegiance to no one, not jedi and not sith. She works for herself in this day and age, tapping into her sith prowess now and again when she throws a fit or rages. She was fairly young all those years ago and the magics and carbonite preserved her body in time. She has to regain her strengths, but she does that fairly quickly through her bounty hunting.
She tries to save up enough credits to pay a surgeon to remove the chains from her body so she can finally be free and unstoppable when she throws a beserker rage fit in the darkside, which is why she had the chains surgically fused with her body in the first place. They are impervious to lightsaber contact so they cannot be removed by such means. She got used to them and uses them when she fights by strangling people, throwing them, or holding people in place while she multi-tasks. She gives life to the chains through the force. They wrap around her arms and legs when she doesn't want them to be seen or if she's self-conscious about them at the time.
Anyways, that's what I got. I was reading other member back stories on their characters to get ideas.
Heh heh, sounds like you've got some interesting ideas going there.
Character back stories can be fun to write. It's always fun to use your imagination. I've been slowly writing a fan fiction about one of my costume characters (a chapter and a half of which is up on Fanfiction.net)... It can definitely be enjoyable.
Carbonite, according to Star Wars lore, has been around for ages, even during the Old Republic. Though Vader and Boba Fetter, in Empire Strikes Back, make it sounds like it's the first time that anyone has been frozen in carbonite, they act like it's never been done before, and yet in Star Wars: The Old Republic, it seems like people get frozen in carbonite often enough... So, I don't know...![]()
I've actually got a few stories on fanfiction.net and my clone trooper story is on there, but its at a hault, because I wanted someone to proof read it. They backed out though. Just my luck, lol, nobody and I mean NOBODY wants to read my stories. I don't know, something about them, people say "Oh, I'll read it." and then, they never do. I need to get better at writing and maybe they will kinda half-heartedly glance at it and get stuck in it, lol. Then they can't pull away. A dream I have, lol.
I've actually changed the story a bit. To add more of a challenge for the character, I researched the condition one would be in after being frozen in carbonite and it would be a weakened state of blindness and a lack of muscle conditioning, I would assume, being immobilized that long. She's been frozen for over 1000 years just about, but the sith magics kept her body alive and strong to some degree.
The smugglers are now seeking her out , but realize, that their intention to transport her to a holding place has been anticipated thousands of years ago. Upon even so much as moving the slab she's in, the carbonite is programmed to recede and release her. The smugglers have an , "Oh, crap," moment and have to subdue her for transportation. I think I'll have her devise a plan of escape, eventually. Meanwhile, her master could have passed down the whereabouts of her location to offspring or successors and it turned into a family story that the leader of the team was fed in his childhood. ONce he was of age, he began to study the artifacts about the sith and the jedi. Getting some bad blood going, he starts selling these items to black market dealers, but not without doing his research. He's on no particular side, but these items have been in his family for years. I think they were placed there for a reason, with the intent of SOMEONE having leadership and control over the sith lord's star pupil, even after he had long, since, passed into the force. Unbeknownst to his team of misfit bandits or hired guns, he has more plans for this servant of darkness. I don't think he particularly plans to control her, but he knows of someone that does and he will receive big bucks for delivering her to this mysterious contact.
I'm still working out the details on what I want to do, but this should make for a sturdy plot line, I think, for the fanfiction. I feel bad for talking so generously on this thread sometimes, lol. I do put a lot of thought into my characters. Hopefully, people see that. I don't mind if they read all of it or they don't read, but you and I seem to have a nice common interest brimming in these comments.
