Favorite comic Villians

I haven't seen a thread like this, so We have our heroes we like. What about Villians? What Villian do you like or like to see your favorite Hero fight?

For me, I'm going to say The Joker, Sabretooth, and Venom.

All time top has to be the Joker. He's brilliant, funny, scary and extremely deadly. He's the perfect villain for Batman. He’s insane… and honestly, Batman isn’t all there either. He has no superpowers and has to rely on his brain. So in those respects they are very much the same.

Then they are polar opposites. Batman does not kill, where the Joker kills whenever he feel like it. The Joker is garish where Batman is dark and brooding. It’s ironic that the hero here wears dark clothing, while the villain is dressed in a very colorful manner. Batman stands for law and order, while the Joker stands for chaos.

He’s just got an over the top personality. He doesn’t care about money or power… although he does indulge in revenge. He views life as a joke and death as the punch line.

A close second would be Magneto… because of everything he’s seen and everything he’s endured, he refuses to let it happen again. In his mind he’s a freedom fighter. He’s incredibly powerful and intelligent.

In a lot of ways I can identify with these characters’ motives… perhaps somewhere deep in my darker half… but I can understand them... although not condone their actions.

Magento. Its hard to hate him because of why he is the way he is, and some of his actions just leave you going WHOA like when he ripped Wolverines skeleton out through his pores.

I agree with Magneto. He never really struck me as an outright villain but more someone going for the same thing Xavier was but via the wrong way. Although at times in the storylines it looked like he had the right idea.

I thought the interdimensional imp Mr. Mxyzptlk from Superman was cool. Baron Zemo from Captain America I loved because anybody who accidentally superglues a mask to his head and yet doesn't cut a hole across the front so he can eat has to be a badass.

My favorites have to be the Hellfire Club from the Claremont/Byrne/Austin X-Men run because all its S&M costumes dovetailed nicely with my adolescent yearnings at the time. :lol

The Joker is one of my favorites. Off the top of my head, some others are:

Bullseye- Like Batman, no superpowers. He is also, relentless and brutal.
Fin Fang Foom- Besides the giddyness I feel just saying his name, not only is he a villian, but he can cook a mean General Tso's chicken.
Red Skull! Not many villians beat the good guys. Red Skull did defeat Cap. America. That, my friends is hardcore.

Marvel: Galactus, Grim Reaper, Ultron, Loki, Juggernaut, Omega Red, ..and deadpool?

DC: Black hand, Sinestro, Zod (movie), Deathstroke

DC:
Sinestro
Parallax
Joker

Marvel:
Dr. Doom - In particular during Mark Waids "Unthinkable" run on the Fantastic Four
Magneto
The Brood - In particular during the original Uncanny X-men run starting in #155
Kraven

Fin Fang Foom. He's just zany. A big green monster/man with purple trunks. Pre-dates the Hulk. He's been in several comics and fought Iron Man and Thor.

I have a toy figure of him. Found it in the bargain bin At Toys R us.

Here's most of mine...

The Joker
Lex Luthor
Magneto
Venom (at least in his earlier years)
Sabertooth
Deathstroke
The Crime Syndicate and The Justice Lords
Sinestro
Slaymaster
Judge Death
Ian Nottingham

Joker and Jason todd......i always love reading joker comics and bringing back jason todd to be a villian...not a lot of people liked the idea, but i loved it....jason todd is a great new villian that can take on batman...they both are highly trained and it is always a good battle

I liked the Eclipso Run years back. My favorite was when Eclipso took over Batman and the Joker, and they started fighting tooth and nail, and Eclipso had to vacate both as he was beating the crap out of himself.

Doomsday, a villain that killed Superman and only by banishing him to the end of time could they get rid of him. That's one badass MoFo.
