Fallout: New Vegas Modded AER-9 Laser Rifle Build -- FINISHED

Thanks Jm419 and Cueloopz! I'll do a video within the next couple days so I can point out all of the little stuff. For now though, I'll just put up the ripped, unedited firing sound for the rifle. It was taken directly from the game's archive files, and then slightly modified for friendlier programming. Getting the sound to play was definitely the most entertaining part of this project, just because it's so cool that it actually shoots!

Now, if only I could find a way to send this back in time so I could have it when I was 5...

That's the real trick, isn't it?

Well, the normal kids had Pokemon games back then. Too bad for you. :p

Congrats on an impressive looking prop!

Out of interest, are you going to try and build the unique AER-9 variants or is there little physical difference between the uniques and generics?

Cheers

Thanks!

The only unique variants in New Vegas are the Van Graff Laser Rifle, the AER-14, and the Tri-beam. The Van Graff is identical to a plain AER-9, the AER-14 has a few different textures (but is nearly the same), and the tri-beam is EXTREMELY different.

That being said, I don't think I'll be doing any of the unique ones for myself. I do like the Tri-beam's looks, but I like the modded one's looks better. And, I think I'm a little burned out as far as laser rifles go for the time being. :lol

Hello theP13RC3,

I can imagine why you might be lasered out.

Thanks for the extra info about the unique variants. I will have to pay more attention to them when I next fire up FNV.

Good luck with the junkyard sale.

Cheers.

Thanks theobeau! I'm off to Florida for a week, but I should still be able to post periodic replies and everything too!

The final product looks amazing. I cant help feeling it looks proportionally too big. But again Great Job and keep up the good work.

It is bigger than a lot of the other AER-9's on here, but that's because I scaled it according to the game and not the online blueprint a lot of people use.

To see how I scaled it, you can check it out on post 9 of my question thread here: http://www.therpf.com/f9/fallout-aer-9-laser-rifle-questions-145473/

So, proportionally it's right for my height ;)
