Falling Skies

Every time I think about this season I go back to the guy talking up how raw and rough this season is going to be and how he fixed everything by removing "magic bullets" from the show. The guy acted like he knew better than the first season writer and he was going to make it so much better.

And then we see what he thought was better. And it wasn't.

Funny. I never had a problem with the "magic bullets". They made sense to some degree.

Did anyone watch the season premier last night? All in all a good episode. I don't like this new trend of coming back from the break and a whole year has passed. They introduced new characters and didn't even offer an explanation as to who they were. I like the new alien close up effects. I'm not sure if they are CGI or solid props. I'm definitely glad it's back for another season.

I totally agree. They should have started right after the new aliens landed. That just made no sense. I also didn't like how they did the "Oh and we forgot to tell you, after two seasons, that these aliens also have these super mechs..." Then they pulled a Star Trek and had the characters have some super alien weapons, but then later on they go on another mission, but don't have those weapons. WTH? It kind of feels like when Heroes changed writers and then the story completely changed and Peter had no powers.

OK so im not the only one!! I thought i missed out on some episodes but now i understand...
I watched the pemiere last night and i didnt get a thing...just like ehm,uh,what just happened...
In the season 2 ending you see a "new" alien land and theres your cliffhanger wow...and yesterday a new president, son in wheelchair, full out war with this new alien that you dont know a single thing about, new mechs, baby on the way and so on.....Not cool!! :(

This show just has no energy to it. I keep giving it a chance but it's not giving me anything to care about. Just blow up the Earth and be done with it.

The year gap was very problematic and not really addressed. We did see at the end of last year the little bot going into his ear which is someone causing him to think he's paralyzed, but they left that part out. All in all, for a show that takes a 10 month break - WAY too much to ask of an audience to figure out after that period of time. I mean, how bleeping hard is it to show the end of last seasons clip and have a 'nine months later' tag at the beginning. Also, hard to feel sorry for the guy who died since he's only been onscreen like 5 whole minutes.

As for the guns, at a guess, they held them back to defend the city in case of an attack instead of using them on a surprise raid. Plus, to check them out would have notified people who weren't supposed to be 'in the know' of something going on.

That happens to me that neither I will continue the series nor would have to see it all again. The networks are crazy with this schedules, then complain that people do not have loyalty to the series...:wacko

As much as I enjoy the show I also felt at a bit of a loss at the beginning of the first episode of the season premiers, I really felt like I had missed something. They definitely needed a better recap and maybe a few minutes of new footage in the recap to bridge the gap between S2 & S3 to give us a better idea of what went on in between.

I love the combination of CG and real prop of the friendly Aliens (Volm) Heck!, I like the design so much I'd love to build the damn costume... but my skills are limited.

The effects work on the show is nothing short of spectacular but, unfortunately, the writing (especially this last season) still leaves a bit to be desired. The first 2 seasons were pretty decent but this last one seemed very rushed, like they had more planned than they had episodes for. Even though I know I watched every episode I couldn't help but to feel that, at times, I missed episodes in between. Hopefully the writing will be a little more consistent next season, especially when it comes to the way they write Lordis, that character is just all over the place.

Thank you. Glad I'm not the only one that felt like this. I actually kept going back to previous episodes to verify that I actually watched them. It was an odd feeling to say the least.

I know how you feel, it was driving me nuts as I was convinced that I missed episodes but I couldn't find any missing episodes whenever I checked a list of episodes. The two worst parts for me was when the prof (forget his name at the moment) came back all of a sudden on that boat, and the whole thing with Lordis, especially given the deleted scene of her that they kept showing the recaps; that scene more than anything made me feel that I had missed an episode somewhere along the way.

Yes, Mason's return is a prime example. I also felt like they went straight from not knowing if the Volm weapon got destroyed in that blast to it being on a cargo boat. How did it get there???

What's the deleted scene with Lordes?

Exactly, what was that, previous episode ends with is the weapon destroyed, how do we fix it with no volm technicians left and the weapon was if I recall correctly buried under debris from the blast..... and maybe I'm mistaken but was the weapon not huge, then it was not really all that big on the boat?
but as mentioned....blam there it is on the boat/barge and another point is how slow was that barge and the skitters just watched it drive right up the river'lake right at it with no defense whatsoever?

I like the show but come on already sharpen up that pencil on the writing for the show, the key elements are there just put the puzzle together better

and yes the very last scene of the season finale screamed V with alien crossbread child with the quiet demeanor and want to help the humans

What's the deleted scene with Lordes?

Not a true deleted scene, just a scene shown during the previous episodes recap but, to my knowledge, never actually aired in any actual episode. It's the scene where we see Lordes praying or something in some sort of chapel and
we see the bugs crawling all over her face and she's smiling as it happens.

I seem to remember seeing it at the end of one of the previous episodes as a kicker.
