Falling Skies

I have a feeling that harnessed kid going back with her brother after 'befriending' Matt (aka finding out where they're headed) will be a BIG deal...

Yeah, that was a really bad decision leaving her with Matt. They shouldn't even be telling him the whole story of what the 2nd Mass is up too. No reason for kids to know that much.

Now Lourdes...she's getting on my last damn nerve. ;)

Agreed. It's like she's forgotten how to act. Just an unlikable character at this point.

Skitters used to be humans.

Funny. I thought this was already established as fact. Didn't they cut one open last season and determine that?

yes :cool

No, they didn't establish it as fact. They simply established that Skitters have harnesses. Which could simply be the method that allows them to communicate and control the harnessed kids. Or that they were harnessed to be controlled by the Fishheads, which is what has come out with the Skitter revolution. But the fact that they have stated that the Fishheads enslaved the Skitters on ANOTHER PLANET indicates that they aren't very likely to be human.

Yeah, I don't remember there being a connection between skitters and humans either. If they showed it I didn't see it.

Ok sorry I need to go back and watch again apparently. I could've sworn we'd seen evidence of humans turning into skitters. I at least recall them understanding that they would eventually turn to skitters even if the current skitters were enslaved elsewhere

Right. This was my understanding. On the skitter they dissected, the harness was inside, correct? I think that's what made me realize that whatever gets harnessed, turns into a skitter. Human, alien, or otherwise.

It's not clear. The harnesses start funking up human skin after a while. It may not be that they are turned into a Skitter but have similar traits after a while. It's clearly innaccurate to state 'Skitters used to be humans' though there certainly are indications that Skitters may be the end result of harnesses.

Skitters used to be human-like lifeforms. Maybe not from Earth, but still human like. Thats my theory and I'm sticking with it until I see evidence suggesting otherwise. That girl and her brother from the other week were definitely mid-transformation.

Oh, and Terry O'Quinn's character from this week is definitely a collaborator with the fishheads.

I will agree, not all skitters are human, but I am convinced harnessed humans will become skitters. Skitters seem to be the end result of the overlords harnessing whatever lifeforms they subjugate.

Well, it's wrapped up for another long wait.

I liked the way it played out, and am very happy to know season 3 is already committed.

The only problem I have with the series is that they need to tell the writers to write this thing somewhat realistically. At least have people and situations happen naturally. For example in the series finale
when the rebel Skitters burst into the Charleston community. That was just lazy writing. The Skitters know that most humans can't tell them apart and think they are the enemy. So why in the heck would they all just run in there?! It would have been more realistic if the soldiers had immediately opened fire on them. The way it was done just seems lazy. It would have made more sense for Ben to approach the sentries (hey the writers forgot about them even though they are frequently mentioned...) and have him come inside to deliver the message.

I'm guessing maybe they had the deharnessed kids in front?

Yeah definitely some sloppy writing in a few parts. And how easy was it to take out the one overlord? I thought the rebel group couldn't help because they would be detected. Was the overlord that distracted?

And the ending...I'm thinking ally but kinda hoping enemy that drops in to support the recent lack of leadership in the area.

The whole Hal thing...is he under their control now? It looks like the same sort of bug that we saw on the first or second episode this season but now in the ear (going to the brain I assume) as opposed to the eye

Guess we have a year to see what happens

I only watched it for a while and only just started watching it again last week, seems to have a real V ( TV Series ) feel to it.. Aliens come, Resistance Begins, they have Resistance who want to team up etc..

My prediction: the new aliens will be good guys through season 3, until the last episode where it will turn out they're secretly bad guys and turn on the humans, leaving us with another shocking cliffhanger.

I think they need to fire the writing staff and get some real writers. The show is just too damn simplistic and repetitive.

I just love the weekly conversations that take place between two characters talking about the same thing week after week. They really could have replayed the same episode all season long and it wouldn't have made a difference.

Then there’s the serious conversation that takes place as a character is about to go on a dangerous mission. This usually includes a request by one character that they be allowed to go on the mission followed by the other character talking them out of it.

“Dad I want to go with you.”
“You need to stay here and Insert reason here."

The finale was totally uninspired. I could tell Dai was dead 20 minutes into the finale seeing as they gave him more lines and pretty much painted a target on his head. I actually laughed when he died because it was so obvious.

The Hal thing is just stupid. Karen kissed him and now he’s unresponsive but his vitals are fine so let’s just let him sleep it off. He couldn’t possibly have been contaminated with a bug or something? The aliens never do anything like that. No lets not guard him or anything let’s just leave him alone because we’re idiots.

As for the ending it’s like they couldn’t figure out what to do with the current storyline so they added in some bad ass warrior alien for next season in order to buy time for them to come up with some direction for the show to go in. Right now the writers are probably trying to figure out what to do with the new aliens.

I think the weapon they destroyed was to keep the new warriors from arriving on earth, not to kill humans. It looks like its heading for an AvP story :)

I'm happy with the episodes so far.

Every time I think about this season I go back to the guy talking up how raw and rough this season is going to be and how he fixed everything by removing "magic bullets" from the show. The guy acted like he knew better than the first season writer and he was going to make it so much better.

And then we see what he thought was better. And it wasn't.
