Falling Skies

I'm really enjoying season 2. The character development is quite good, and given the lack of good special effects, that's really what will keep people coming back to watch.

I'm a bit surprised that I'm liking Ben more and more. His role can't be easy to play, but the actor has done a good job...writers too.

Now, his brother on the other hand...

Sundays episode was quite interesting. Anyone catch it? This season is definitely giving us much more than last season

Their entire group is made up of idiots. They get there and they expect to see standing intact city, and when they don't they decide to leave? Of COURSE the human survivors would be hiding in the city. They couldn't use intact buildings. They'd be hiding in underground structures if possible, or at least low laying ones. It's like Mason and the rest forgot the aliens can fly over any city looking for heat sources.

Good point but with the rebel skidders and finding the new capital apparently I'm anxious to see where it all goes. I'm entertained :)

I'm willing to cut them slack based on 1) their blind hope and 2)perhaps the thought was that Charleston wasn't a "primary target" and might have been left intact.

Yea the week of it not airing made me miss it more! How many episodes are left for the season? I don't want it to end!

Pretty good episode even though there was just filler and no real story. I mean the whole harnessed kid storyline. That seemed to go no where. I did enjoy the captain and the guy who eventually says he was a marine story. That was pretty good. I'll also be interested to see what happens in Charleston.

I have a feeling that harnessed kid going back with her brother after 'befriending' Matt (aka finding out where they're headed) will be a BIG deal...

I'm sorry to say, but the last few episodes were very easy to read, and know what was going to happen before it happened.

When will us humans learn as far as the aliens KNOW we are compassionate, they can keep sending in "spys" that we will tell them exactly what and when we are doing something.

This series is going down hill for me QUICKLY!

They just got conned by Karen and now here is this other kid getting info from Matt. Just because the damn harness is not glowing doesn't mean it isn't working! Karen didn't even have a harness! It's a wonder the human race wasn't totally conquered already.

I can agree that it's a bit frustrating they've been duped multiple times, but I think it's not totally out of the question considering the sentimentalities the skitters are playing on. First time is using a familiar face, the second time a much younger girl that is seemingly alone hot by their car.

Frustrating, but emotions can be frustrating, even stupid at times. That's why I'm still enjoying the hell out of it.

Now Lourdes...she's getting on my last damn nerve. ;)

I think it was meant to introduce the possibility that skitters are not exactly what they seem. Did you really look at the little girl? She wasn't just dirty. Her face and hands seemed to show that she was transforming into something. Then, whatever that monster thing was that she called her brother? now you factor in that skitters are also harnessed and they seem to actually care for the kids they are in charge of and that the kids feel they are their "guardians"?

Skitters used to be humans.

Well, ever since they showed that skitters are also harnessed in the first season, there have been theories about what the skitters really are. I think this most recent episode is starting to take the viewers down this path. Clearly the harness does more than just provide a means of control. It eventually turns the host into a skitter.

Yeah they need to write the show like intelligent people are watching it. I think being duped was taken to an all time high on Stargate Atlantis where the Genii constantly screwed them. They ALWAYS fell for their tricks. At a certain point the audience is just going to feel like they are being forced to suspend their sense of disbelief to a crazy degree.

Wow really interesting turn of events. Anyone else see this week?

Such a shame that next week is the season finale already

I'm still watching this show and actually like it more and more. Truth be told, I'm OK with the lack of action. It's good to have the occasional skitter show up or even an overlord, but I'm not a fan of the mechs at all. The less they are in the show, the better for me.
