well straight away problems, the bottom lights on the lid that opens do not stay on when opened, I see them flicker or I can get them to stay on with the lid barely opened, so they work just not staying on when opened.

I believe some people reported issues with their flux capacitor. Can’t recall what the problem was, though.

I wasn't thrilled with my first Catspaw Enterprise, had too many issues, and exchanged for a better one, but it still wasn't aligned properly. I guess we will find out if they have extras, or this is a mass problem they all have.

Thanks for posting the vid. Given how much they touted their design of not running the wires for the bottom half through the hinges, I’m surprised this was actually the point of failure on the one you received. Hopefully they resolve the problem quickly.

That aside, the finish looks really good.

This one is huge compared to my First Contact EFX tric. I thought maybe it would fit in the holster for that one but no way. Was this prop way bigger than the First Contact prop?

Arrived early. You are instructed to charge the battery first. FYI the scanner has a small plastic tab you are to remove that keeps the battery from draining. Mine did not have one installed for some reason. I'll get a video up later today.

Did your tracking ever change? I know USPS has a history of tracking saying “awaiting item” then it shows up without the status being updated. Mine still says awaiting item.

It kept saying Saturday and then last night I saw it had arrived to local distribution center. Even then I thought, oh maybe Friday. But it showed up. And it's signature required unless you have an USPS account and digitally sign it ahead of time.

EDIT: Great tip! I signed up for electronic signature. I didn’t know these packages required a signature.

None that I noticed on the tricorder itself. Got it boxed already so can't look it over anymore. The plaque is numbered as is the cardboard shipping box as some hang onto those. I kept the hand scanner. They said they will send a tested unit back upon receiving this one.


One thing to be aware of is there are two USB ports, one is for charging and one is for the head unit. The charging port has a sticker to ID it. The other is a USB-C and only for the head unit. I could see with a lot of USB-C charging these days one could think both were for charging and screw up. It's a warning in the instructions.

USPS status for the tricorder went from awaiting item in California this morning to arrived at St. Louis sort facility this evening. No delivery date yet.

Yeah the Mark VI and VII series tricorders were much larger than the Mark IX and X we see in FC.
