Factory Entertainment MIB 2 Neuralyzer

Yep. My neuralyzer failed to shut off after 30 seconds and was still going after 20 minutes.

This on top of the problem with the flash and sound effects.

Neither issue really bothers me, though. I would never leave it on that long anyway.

Are Factory Entertainment planning to release a replica of the MIB I Neuralyzer in the near future? As much as I love my MIB 2 neuro, i'd love the chance to buy the first iteration of that prop.

I've heard that they were thinking about it. Though I am sure a few other things will come out first considering the complexity of the piece. I too would love to see a licensed version with the adjustable year.

I got one of these Factory Enertainment Men in Black II Neuralyzer off eBay and it arrived today. Only $100 but it was a non-working one. and no paper work.

Can someone please tell me what size Battery goes into it so I can see if I can get it working as a bad battery could have been the cause of it not working.

Thanks,
Keith

Got a new battery and it is still a dead prop.
Not a big loss. I paid a good price for it being a non-working prop.

But I did send an email to FE to see what they charge for a non-warrantee repair.

Keith

Great servcie from FE,
Got a reply back in less than an hour.
They report that they can not repair and as I did not expect it they can not replace it as I got it second hand. And I never thought that they would.
They did make me a good offer to get a working one but I just can not afford it.

What I have is good for display. And I really did like thier responce and service.

I'd be tempted to see if there is a way to get inside, I would bet anything it's something stupid simple to fix, cold solder joint or something along those lines.

The top cap unscrews, then a screw holds the entire "head" section in place. If you're handy (and careful) you could easily get inside there.

Benhs1898,
I have removed the top and see the screw.
now before I pull out the board can you tell me how it is connected to the battery?
Is there some long wires coiled at the bottom or is the card sitting on contacts?

If sitting on contacts is the case that could be a simple cause to it's failure.

I am assuming that the battery does not come out with the board through the top.

Thanks,
Keith

That is beyond me, I haven't taken mine apart because it has been working fine. I hope you figure it out!

Thanks,
I have gotten as far as you discribed but it seams to still be held in some how.

Will keep trying a little at a time. Rushing could cause big troubles :)

You got me much farther into it then I would have gotten :)

Keith
