Factory Entertainment MIB 2 Neuralyzer

I would return it.

It should NOT be doing that

Sigh. I don't know.

I'm having issues with the replica flashing. Sometimes it will flash, sometimes it won't. I got new batteries and for two on-and-off cycles it worked alright (Had to wait three seconds after a solid green light before I would flash it), but after the third cycle it doesn't like to flash consistently anymore.

I don't know what to do. I've heard that this is normal. Is that ok?

mine does the same thing but it doesn't really bother me. when i wait a bit then the light will go off.

Just to reiterate, as in the instructions included with the piece:

We can answer this question... the battery that comes with the Neuralyzer is only a sample or demo battery. It should be replaced with with a domestic name brand battery for best performance as indicated in the instructions. For peak repeat performance (lots of flashes in quick succession) we recommend lithium batteries. For longevity we recommend Alkaline batteries. Its unfortunately a trade off, because as far as we are aware nobody currently produces a battery with both characteristics.

The neuralyzer replica uses the same flash set up as a camera. Not wanting to get too technical, but this has a hefty effect on the recharge rate of any battery. Basically the amount of power sent to the capacitor to charge the flash mechanism. The faster the refresh rate the more times the flash can be used in quick succession. An alkaline battery will last longer and supply power for a longer time but the refresh rate is not as good. You will need to wait longer between flashes.

For this reason several manufacturers offer special batteries designed specifically for cameras. We have found these to offer the best performance. We tried to supply the best battery we could obtain to give the best overall performance, but its not a known brand name and is only intended as a sample. All batteries are not created equal and when flashes involved!

This is not a fault, its just a limitation of the space available inside the prop and the limits of electrical engineering.

got mine a day ago, opened it up today and set it out.

it took about a week to get to me from the time i placed my order -- so that was nice. i had it shipped regular fedex, but if you want it faster, you have that option but it does cost more, of course.

mine is number 200-something (number of issue never meant much to me unless you get #1 or the very last one, I suppose).

looks great, no noticeable flaws upon a quick once-over inspection. pop-up mechanism seems to work just fine. put in a fresh name-brand battery that proved lights and sound to be functional...i had an MR, and this one seems to flash a bit brighter and sound a bit louder...not sure that it is an appreciable difference, as i did not have them both at same time to activate them side by side, but going on memory only, the FE one seems a tad brighter/louder.

i was heading out to pool with family, so i was only able to play with it a few minutes (the neuralyzer, you jokers, the NEURALYZER) -- but mine seems like a good one...knock on wood.

the thing is, like the MR one i had, i will likely just let this one sit in display case and only take it out and show it off once in a blue moon. BIG BAD TOYS has a cheap-o costume version listed on their web site, which I have pre-ordered. i think it's only $10 or $12. Not sure if it can "pop open" or is in permanent "open" position, but it's the kind of thing i'll carry around to goof with at work or at parties and such...never had the nerve to do this with the MR...as you know, when you pull out props with flashy lights and silly sounds, inevitably someone else wants to handle it, and that someone else may not appreciate the fact that they are holding a $400 toy in their hands. so those of you that love this prop may wanna check out internet for this cheapie toy to have to play with.

i also have 2 other toys of this prop released in toy stores and at Universal, and the 2 Burger King versions.

anyways, back to FE piece -- from what little i've toyed around with it, seems like a swell prop replica. i did not post pictures as it seemed redundant -- looks the same as other posted -- did not pick up on any over-polished brass areas and the pop-up thingy seems to work fine and not any more sensitive than the MR one I had...and it seems to flash every time i activated it -- but i did wait 3 to 5 seconds between flashes.

Haha. You were THAT excited for it?

I was suspicious it may have been that, it was pretty cool to have it confirmed.

Recieved my replacement today from Facory.
Personally inspected by Tom Vargas. Quick response and replacement .
A+ for Factory Entertainment's customer service!

Checking ONCE again. Any neuralyzers turning up at third party vendors outside the US?

I ordered mine from a third party in the states and it still hasnt shown up yet, so I would assume that they haven't started shipping out just yet.

Hey Everyone,

We're in the process of shipping to our 3rd parties now. It takes a little bit of time for us to ship the pieces to them and then them to turn around to ship to you. We appreciate your patience. As always, if speed is a factor, buying direct at factoryent.com will ensure you get it first!

By the way, hope you're paying attention to our YouTube account :love

Got mine yesterday, I wonder if any Aussie has one or is mine the only one in the country???? :)
