Face Off Season 3

I'm finally watching the first episode because my husband isn't in the living room with me this evening (he has a particular dislike of Glenn and can't watch the show without getting snarkish over the way some of the critiques are delivered).

All I can say is holy crap, Joe is absolutely ridiculous. Even if I hadn't seen this thread, my expectation of him would've been set by his response to Sean Astin's kindly delivered criticism of his crap foundation challenge. Whenever someone continually brushes off negative comments as 'that's what happens when you do something truly unique', I know there's nothing worthwhile that's going to come out of that person.

Not to mention his nearly breaking down in tears from meeting Sean Astin.

Eh, that didn't bother me, to be honest. It's hardly the most bizarre reaction I've seen to meeting someone whose movies meant something to the fan as a kid. He was more controlled than some of the people I've seen going through the lines at cons. :confused

Reality programs choose contestants for entertainment value as much as specified talents.
I don't know if a winner is selected from day 1 of filming but the production company has as much input and influence on competition winners as do the participants and judges.
I've read as much in the credits of these competition reality shows!

True. He wasn't hyper-ventilating and hopping up and down with excitement.

He is just embarrassed by his actions and portrayal that he is trying to save face :lol

He burned more than one bridge in the industry and he is trying to pass blame off on everyone else.

Last night was ok. But they may as well have said that the episode is based on POTC Davy Jones' crew. It really was that obvious. I am rather curious to why he would have an eye poping out of the scope.

Yeah, that telescope makeup was terrible and cartoony. I think the wench was the best and Sarah definitely deserved winning the week. I was torn on CC or the guy with 'jewels' as the inspiration being sent home. Honestly, probably should have sent them both home.

So far we have had a tie in with Star Wars and now Pirates of the Caribbean. I wasn't paying attention to the preview, so what movie will next week be?

At least we saw that Tommy can do work.

I still wish this show was more about the work than the drama.

Next week is a Chinese dragon theme.

Yeah, Joe was a total ***** and a hack and he wants to make himself out to sound like the victim.

Honestly though, how old is he? He seriously needs to be reminded to take his medication? Or that he wasn't allowed? Bull****. It's not hard for him to keep his pills in his pockets and a glass of water at his workstation. Joe is taking his medication? We'll just cut that 5 1/2 seconds of footage from the show.

Joe is a tool and a hack.

Last night was ok. I really couldn't get into the episode for some reason. I'm glad Tommy had a chance to show his worth without being held back by Joe.

I DVR'ed it, so far there are a few with talent but as a "whole" this crop of people dont seem to be as talented as previous seasons.

Yeah, tommy and Derek really kicked ass with their makeup. Easily my favorite of the challenge.

So they sad Alana couldn't get her finger wet and that's why she couldn't really sculpt but couldn't she just throw a condom/finger condom over the finger? Problem solved.

My thought exactly! Put on some gloves. Heck, Rod worked with a brace on his forearm/wrist in the second episode.

I'd say she'd need a regular condom, considering how much they wraped it, haha! That may look a tad awkward...
