I think you're pics have made this build look simple but I'm pretty confident that its one of the most skilled I've seen, excellent work. Sure I could make it from clay, but if a bits wonky I can just yank a bit off. Not got the luxury with something like this. Very talented, well done.

Got the jaw portion cut away and have begun putting the supporting edge on the helmet where the faceplate will sit. I will then finish the jaw section and then the faceplate last.
Im getting closer and closer to being able to start making all the cool mechanisms I have in mind, to make the various sections of the helmet move. Stay tuned!

I'm actually now considering getting it gold plated and then brushing it with 0000 steel wool to give it the actual look. I'm not sure if it's actual gold plating or something that is used to simulate gold. I'm not an expert in that field at all lol. But as cool as chrome would look, I want to keep it gold and red. Maybe I will chrome my other faceplate to put on the wall.

Thank you very much, I really appreciate it. I've worked with steel my whole life. I might make it look easy in my pics, but I did do a little head scratching as the build progressed. I'm the type who just grabs material and starts building and go from there lol. But thank you very much!

Thanks Nick, much appreciated! I would have to say that it really is pretty cool to see how it has progressed from a bunch of flat sheet metal, to an actual 3 dimensional model of the helmet. I can't wait to get some more work done on it and make it all come to life!

That's really cool man. But is it not possible to brush it yourself with a buff used for brushing watch bracelets and then plating it. The buff looks like a brown 3m scotch brite type wheel. You should look into that...GM

Not At all! you could quite easily sand cast the parts! My school has sand-casting facilities. there must be somewhere nearby to you that would do it.
And please keep doing what you're doing, its amazing to watch it take shape!

My OCD kicked in last night and I had New idea for the helmet's opening and closing with the lower back section of the helmet. I decided to scrap the original section that was on there (darkside's files) and use (omarbou1s) files for this section. It's too hard to explain why I am doing this, so I will post pictures soon to make it make sense lol.
I suspect that this idea I came up with will be cool and work a lot better than the original. Stand by for more updates!

I thought about doing that for my original idea, but because I am working with steel and it's a firm foundation to build off of, I will be doing something similar to the mark 6 helmet that kind of "expands" open.
I have an idea that will basically open the helmet in 4 directions, so we'll see if it works. I've only come up with about 10 different ideas for it and I'm gonna try the coolest one first lol.
