My wife is making her own Leia ANH senator gown. Anybody have any suggestions for what type of fabric to use? Thanks,

John

I can offer some high res pics of the ANH dress that was in Boston...

My wife has been meaning to remake hers, so if anyone recognizes the exact fabric, that would be cool. Her existing one is a polyesther that we found at a fabric store.

The closet fabric to the "Giana" that was used in the 70's would be Jet Set at Joanns fabric.

This particular Senator Gown is lined with the same material. There is no zipper in the ANH gown it is open slit with tie at the neckline. The hood is all one piece of material that is doubled and machine sewn around so that it has the floaty look to it. It is what is called a "Napkin hood"

There are NO I repeat NO back seams and no front seams only side seams in this gown. It is a true 'Ragland sleeve gown.'

I hope this helps.
