I finished unfolding it just now so all thats left to do is break up all those giant pieces to make them fit on normal size papers so im pretty sure tomorrow it should be ready

What do you use for poly reduction? Meshlab? You looked at 3D coat?

send me the model sheet, and if its something i like, i might do it

i just do it by hand in c4d, that way i reduce exactly the polygons i want to. its not the best method, but thats the only way i know for sure it will work fine

I'd deffo recommend looking at 3d coat. Its retopology tools are great and continue to work in its demo mode after the 30 day trial expires.

Its funny and yet incredibly obvious, but if you look at shots of Vanko's suit, its obviously a modified Hammer suit.

Well obviously, right?

Granted I've always assumed he used the Hammer facilities to whip up a brand new suit (pun NOT intended, even took me 1/2 hour later to catch it ^_^;; ) altogether, what with the whole "twisting a human 180 degrees" problem Hammer suits had, but I guess that might've been the fecal-related programming Vanko did away with :lol




But yes, if a basic Hammer suit model is created, it could be layered and/or modified further into a Vanko Whiplash/Crimson Dynamo/ Son/Composite Character suit. And with lighting, like EL wire, maybe we could even give it whips! :cool

P.S. On further retrospection, some of the plating on the Hammeroids legs looks like War Machine's legs.....another "Well duh" moment directed at myself, since Hammer modified Rhodey's suit, yada yada. The Vanko Suit = Modified Hammer Drone Suit is still (semi?)correct

no, but if anyone wants to do so, i will gladly add the files with credit. i dont have time for that atm, tho, also i have never done a foam mod, so there are probably a lot of people who are more capable of this

well, i wasnt happy with the red hood file, so i redid it again, this time it only has about 1400 polygons, which is 1/5 of the high detailed one. i unfolded it 12 times to work out all the kinks with the model, and i think its perfect now, and easy to build.

Hey EOS you wouldn't happen to have a version of this that doesn't have the ridges in it would you? Kinda like the older Red Hood helmet:

nope i dont have that one, but the ridge is not really deep, i allready built the helmet for myself (pepakura only, so far, tho, and its not that bad, you could probably just fix it after you built it, with putting paper over it, or just bondo it shut.
