Oh, I've just seen that other post — yes it is less than last time. They're going to easily reach that, surely?

It would be cool, but I don't know how they could do that since the entire model is made of metal, although it isn't made of a magnetic metal, so I guess they could use a separate piece there. As far as I recall they've already said that they aren't going to alter the structure of the ship, which I took to mean that the main metal assembly is already finalised and won't be changing, meaning no magnets will be added now.

Last week we shared some Campaign FAQs, which you can check out here: https://www.facebook.com/.../permalink/1543486583259727But today we want to walk you through how to back the campaign and pre-order your 1:350 scale U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 from Star Trek™: The Motion Picture Replica, so you are prepared when our campaign launches tomorrow morning.
If you signed up for our waitlist, you’ll receive an email letting you know that the campaign is live. We’ll also share a post in the group when we launch.
STEP 1
First, go to our crowdfunding home page: https://tomyplus.tomy.com/ and click Sign Up/Log In in the upper right corner of the site.If you backed the first TOMY Star Trek Enterprise campaign, you should already have an account and can log in. If this is your first TOMY Star Trek campaign, fill out the “New to TOMY International, Inc.” form and click the blue “Create an Account” button.
STEP 2
Now that you’re logged in, you’re ready to back the campaign! Click on the project “1:350 Scale Replica Your STAR TREK™ Collection Needs” to be taken to the campaign page.STEP 3
On the right side of the campaign page, scroll down to the section "Contribute For Rewards" and click the blue "Choose Reward" button under the option with the number of replicas you would like to order. (You can select from 1, 2, or 3 replicas.)STEP 4
Review your contribution summary and select your contribution type. The contribution type determines whether others can see that you backed the campaign. You can choose to make your pledge public, partially anonymous, or fully anonymous.STEP 5
Enter your credit/debit card informationSTEP 6
Enter your shipping address.Remember that we are not able to ship to PO Boxes and can only ship to addresses in the USA or Canada.
If you’re in another country and using a parcel forwarder, enter the address the forwarder has provided.
STEP 7
Review your total payment with shipping. Once your details are entered and you have verified your pledge details are correct, click the blue Pledge button.You will see a confirmation pop up after you successfully back the campaign. You will receive a confirmation email from tomyplus@tomy.com which will include your Pledge ID number.
This is an All or Nothing campaign, meaning backers will not be charged unless we meet our funding goal. If we successfully meet our goal, all backers will be charged when the campaign ends on September 15th.

No doubt they will reach it faster this time. With the last one going for 1800-2000 aftermarket ..this one will reach probably reach at least 4000 pieces. There will be a lot of resellers this time buying it. It will be interesting to see how big the buys are.

The numbers will be very interesting. The Refit is so popular, but has not been done as much. TOS Enterprise is much simpler and there were other options. I could do a TOS Enterprise, and have it come out pretty good, but I could never do the Refit.
I think the numbers are going to be much bigger than TOS and they just put a low minimum as to not discourage people.
Time will tell.

Yes, you're probably right. I wouldn't attempt a 350 Refit either because I couldn't do it justice.
It's live now, I've ordered two to ensure there are no problems with it. It's almost impossible to send back to Tomy since I'm not in the US and I'm not willing to risk getting a bad one.

2000 ships is the “minimum” needed for the campaign to be a success. But TOMY will continue to take orders until September 15th so there’s little risk of anyone wanting one not being able to order.
