Tomy TOS Klingon D7 Battle Cruiser waitlist

Digressing a bit, like the saucer separation on the Enterprise, meant seemingly for atmospheric emergency entry as we saw in the first Next Gen movie. Anyone think Jefferies was thinking the same thing for the D-7? The front primary bulbous hull looks similar to half capsule lifting bodies, even planned at one point to be part of a pod.

It's an interesting question, did Jefferies have boom separation in mind for the Klingon Battle Cruiser. We have no information on that, not even a labeled schematic of the ship drawn by Jefferies. Mike McMaster put engines in the base of the boom, and FASA copied that over when they re-drew the plans for the role play game, but there's no references in the show or in production materials that I'm aware of, to back that up.

The Estes company put out a deck plan in the mid 1970s to go with their model rocket of the D7, but while the drawing is in the STYLE of Jefferies, I don't know if he did it or was consulted on it.

Pity so many are gone now and we can't ask them new questions. Have to hand it to Jefferies, he already created the constitution class timeless masterpiece and to come up with another with so much screen presence, none of these designs have a bad angle.
