Elysium Max Exoskeleton

Waddya mean "things are getting interesting"? Your WIP has been interesting since day one man:cool Love the effort (and money) you're willing to put in for your project!
Keep up the good work, it'll look cool once finished.

Thanks again for the support :) I assumed there isn't much interest in this build because there's a bunch of 3D screenshots and not much stuff getting cast & painted like in other threads. If I have some "go" left in me after I'm done with the whole exoskeleton I would love to hot-cast it out of Aluminum. There's a place here in Portland called "The Watershed" headed by someone called Deadletter, I think they have equipment for doing this. Primed model -> silicon cast -> wax model -> plaster cast -> pour melted aluminum.

"Good things happen to those who wait";) As a model-maker/builder I know that your kind of project is complex and that your goal is to strive for screen accuracy...so far you've done things that are amazing (trials and errors...that's life) and the result, so far, is kicking asses:cool I'm looking forward to your next update!

Christmas post :)

Completed most of the foot assembly. Going to redo the link part at the top because I found a better reference photo, other than that good to go.

Taking some time off to relax and paint a cyberpunk reindeer:

That foot is looking great:cool...and that cyberpunk reindeer seems a little bit dejected (and alone:unsure)

Starting on the upper spine, going to try for more detail than the movie again. Articulating both lean left/right and lean forward/back motion. Another batch of parts getting manufactured in two weeks, going to route some parts with a CNC table to manage the budget (which has now overrun by 2x).

Getting close to finishing the middle section. I gave it my damnest, but given movie look constraint vs. articulating more I ended up going with the movie look. The middle portion is an oval, so they can't slide on each other to turn left/right. Also the middle portion has to follow cut contour very closely so that kills the bend forward/back articulation. Ends up being one solid piece despite being made up of several parts. Thought about printing the middle portion out of rubber to restore articulation, but then I have to worry about color, unpredictable stretching, and so on.

Mid-spine effectively finished, maybe more adjustments from references down the road. Going to finish the spine including neck links before moving on to the chest plate.

This is shaping up very nicely. I would be very interested in making this suit for myself at some point, if and when you decide to make your STLs available. I think they're worth something.

Thanks, appreciate it :) I haven't decided how to carry out the source release yet, but it will probably be all 2D and 3D files, both source Inventor and high-res STL export, plus possibly pepakura for a more accessible build and assembly instructions PDF.

Added another spine segment, one more left before neck links.

I think I'm done with the spine (neck links have the worst quality references). The progress was impeded somewhat by Far Cry 4.

Thank you! Started chest plates this week. Everything is on a hive-like grid but also resembles the Hitman logo (from stealth-action games).
